A Day In The Life of Us

Another set of posts that I love reading about on other people's blogs are "Day in the Life" posts. Why is it so fascinating to see how other people spend their day to day lives?? Especially since none of us really do anything all that exciting on these days? I also think it will be fun to look back on posts like this when Lily Grace is older and away at school and I am missing my days at home with her.

So here's our day today, June 28th, 2018.

My alarm typically goes off at 5 am. My husband, family and friends think this is absolutely CRAZY but I like to start my day quietly and calmly, cup of coffee in hand, the news read, snuggling Tucker and maybe catch up on whatever book I'm reading. Lily Grace wakes up anywhere from 6:30-7:00 so this gives me a chance to get a jump start on the day and not feel rushed from the get go. It is one of my favorite times of the day :)

This little one woke up around 6:30 this morning and was ready to go!

After some milk, breakfast, and playing with Dada before he left for work, we went for our morning walk around the neighborhood.

After our morning walk, we packed our gym bags (hers has snacks and diapers, while mine has everything I need to shower) and headed to the Y. We typically try to go 3 times a week. Lil LOVES to play with her friends at the childcare and get that social interaction time while Mama exercises. Then, my favorite part is getting to shower, blow dry my hair, STYLE IT, and put makeup on.. IN PEACE while she keeps playing. You don't realize how much you crave the time to blow dry your hair and get ready until you have an active toddler running around, right??

I forgot to take a picture of her at drop off today, but this is a picture from another day so you can see how much she loves it :)

And then I took an awkward gym mirror selfie (don't judge!). Simple style today, just straightened, I was running a little behind. All clean and ready to pick up my girl!

After that we headed to Grandma and Grandpop's house for lunch. I had a doctor appointment this afternoon and Lily Grace stayed with them while I went. I seriously do not know how mama's without family close by do it. Do you take them with you to the doctor?? Get a babysitter?? I am so so so grateful to have my family close by (for a million reasons!).

Playing with Grandma.

One of my mom's favorite things to do with Lil is to put "surprise toys" in a little shoe box. Every time Lily Grace goes over there, my mom has swapped out the toys to something different and she gets sooo excited when my mom pulls out the box. It's always a fun surprise for her to open it and see which toys Grandma put inside that day. This also helps prevent her from getting sick of playing with the same toys over and over again. It is always the same 20 or so toys, just on a rotation. She will put 6-7 in each time.

Then, after this little nugget's nap, we headed back to our house and Lily Grace played with her toys while I made dinner. After that, we ate, cleaned up, put on jammies, and then began our bedtime routine.

It doesn't seem like too exciting of a day, but I know one day I will look back and miss the simplicity of these days at home with her. I love this girl so much and love getting to spend my days with her!
