I thought I'd start this post with a re-cap of last month's goals before we look at next month. Here were my goals for the month of September:

What's Up Wednesday

Hi There! Happy What's Up Wednesday :) I didn't have good enough answers to all of the questions this month, so I eliminated a few and focused on the ones that really told more about what we've been up to. See my shortened version below :)

What We're Eating This Week- Devin is in Amsterdam for work so Lily Grace and I will be joining my parents a lot for dinner. I swear food tastes better when you don't have to make it yourself, am I right?

Organizing Our Cleaning Supplies Closet

Hi There! I hope you're having a great start to your day. I finally got around to crossing a major thing off my to-do list that has been on there FOREVER... organizing our cleaning supplies closet. This was one of those projects that for some reason felt so daunting and I thought would take forever, but in actuality took less than an hour... prompting me to think "I SHOULD HAVE JUST GOTTEN THIS OVER MONTHS AGO!" Does that ever happen to you? Or just procrastinators like me? ;)

Anyway, here are some pictures of our closet now that it looks a million times better (with links to the baskets I used). Have a great day!

What I've Been Priming

I don't know about you, but I love to read other people's posts about what they've been ordering on Amazon Prime. It gives you a little snapshot into what their day to day lives look like, and being the nosey person that I am, I'm all about it! I figured there might be one or two of you out there who also love to read those types of posts... so here goes!

Podcasts I Love

Hi There! It's no secret that I love to listen to audiobooks when I am out for a run, getting ready after showering, or driving around doing errands but my NEW favorite thing is to listen to podcasts. Depending on what I'm in the mood for I can find something inspirational, informative, or pop-culture & mindless and they're all somewhere between 25-45 minutes long. Dev and I both left Apple and iPhones a few years ago, so since we don't have iTunes, I listen to my podcasts on the Stitcher app. These are the perfect way to distract myself while trying to do some of the household chores I hate most (especially the dishes, why are there always SO MANY DISHES?!?).

These are the ones I listen to the most frequently:

Running a Half Marathon

Hi There! Over the past few months I have mentioned a couple times that Dev and I are training to run the Charlotte Half Marathon and I have been getting a lot of questions from family and friends-- so I figured I'd share any information I have about running in case one of you is interested in possibly running one too!  These are the questions I most commonly get:

What I've Been Wearing to Work

Hi There! Anyone else out there hate those mornings when you have a closet full of clothes but can't seem to piece an outfit together for work? I love posts where other bloggers post their work appropriate outfits and I can use them as inspiration. I thought I'd share what I've been wearing in case I'm able to help any of you!
I was running too late for a morning pic on this day and went with an afternoon pic... MUCH better lighting! Maybe I need to take afternoon pics more often!

How We... Fall!

Hi there! It is hard to imagine fall when the temperatures around here are still in the upper 80's and 90's, but we are all trying hard aren't we?? Since it still feels like summer, I have not decorated the house yet for fall, but I will tell you some of what I WILL be doing over the next few weeks and then I'll post some actual pics once it is all done. Grab yourself a cup of pumpkin spiced coffee and a cozy blanket and settle in to daydream about fall!

Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale is Here!

It's sale day! I don't know about you but I just love the bright colors and effortlessly preppy style of Lilly Pulitzer. Her clothes immediately boost my mood. I am hoping to see some of the items from my previous list on sale today. I was checking out a few more items too and have my eye on these:

Organizing the Big Work Closet

Good Morning! Today's post is about one of my favorite things to do... organize. I don't know about you, but I feel SO MUCH BETTER when things are put away all neat and tidy and I know where everything is. Devin is very much the opposite of this (opposites attract??) so sometimes living with someone who doesn't appreciate my neurotic tendencies love for organization can be hard.

This upcoming school year will be my second year as the part time STEM teacher at my school. I will have to tell you the story of how this job fell into my lap one day, because it was one of those moments when I could absolutely feel God smiling down on me and saying "I've been hearing your prayers and this is my answer". I still get chills thinking about it. Anyway, last year I accepted the job literally the week before school started and was not able to get in and organize the science closet that was now mine. Throughout the year I made a small attempt here and there to alphabetize the supplies in order to make them easier to find, but other people have access to this closet too and were not putting things back in the right place. I gave up trying until I figured I would really have some time to make it perfect. This is what this closet looked like before I tackled it this summer:

As you can see, you can't even walk in here without having to pull stuff out of your way.

Florence and Tuscany

Good Morning! Thanks for stopping by our Italy recap. If you are just now joining us you can see our other Italy posts here:

And our posts about how we travel inexpensively here:

Part 2

Anyway, onto Florence!

So we got to Florence, and to be honest we were very underwhelmed. We had been told that Florence would be our favorite city by far and that it was much prettier and cleaner than Rome, but we actually found the opposite to be true. In fact, it was the dirtiest city we had visited by far. Has anyone else had a similar experience to this?? I'm hoping this was just a fluke.
