Our Downstairs Den/Living Room

Hey there and happy Friday! As you know, we renovated our house last fall/winter and moved back into our house in February. We have been slowly trying to make our house feel like "home" again and are finally in a place where it's almost done-- woohoo!

When we first started the renovation process our goal was to expand our kitchen by moving the staircase. An unexpected bonus was that it not only opened up our kitchen, but it opened up the space downstairs as well. Now we are able to maximize every square inch of our space unlike before, when we had some "dead" space we were unable to use.

If you watched the video tour of our house pre-renovation, you would remember that our staircase used to be right smack in the middle of our living area. We shifted the staircase to the side and it opened up the living area both on the main floor and in our downstairs den/living area. Devin and I are both so happy with how this room turned out, and this is where we spend about 80% of our time as a family. I will try to link most things at the end of the post in case you have a question. If I missed something, please let me know!

Come on in!

Dining Nook Area Before and After

Hi there! I hope you've had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend ahead. Devin's parents are in town (yay!) and we are planning to have some low key fun with them over the next few days. Our local children's museums opened back up and are running on reservations only, so we have reservations at two different museums this weekend! I actually really love the idea of reservations in order to keep numbers down. When we have been in the past the museums can get so crowded they aren't really enjoyable. We definitely won't have to worry about that now!

Today I want to share another room of our house since we've renovated. This one is quick, just the dining nook off our kitchen. This is where we eat a majority of our meals when it's just the 4 of us, but when we have guests over for dinner we eat at our bigger table downstairs.

Master Bedroom Updates

Hi there! It's time for another update of how things are going at the new and improved house 😊 I'm trying to take this little by little as we get moved back in and things feel "put together" again. I feel like you have seen this room a hundred times in the background of pictures, but never in a post of it's own. This is long overdue!

Our Coffee Bar Area

Last month Shay and Erika did a coffee bar theme for their "Let's Look" link up, but at the time, we still weren't back in our house. I may have missed the link up for it, but figured it would still be fun to show our current coffee bar setup anyway... and for you to see my OCD side come out a little bit 😂.

Our current coffee bar setup is pretty straightforward:

Target Home Decor Finds

Can you tell I've had home decor stuff on the brain lately?? We have some big changes happening in our house here pretty soon (more on that next week) and in the meantime I just keep Pinning and Pinning and Pinning all the pictures that feel cozy, warm and welcoming!

A couple weeks ago I posted some home decor items I found at Walmart.com and apparently you all loved it as much as I did! I decided to venture over to Target and see if they had anything that fit into that same Boho/Beachy/Casual vibe that was also inexpensive (comparatively). I'll be real up front-- some of the Target stuff is significantly more expensive than the same thing is at Walmart.. but then some of it is priced very similarly. Either way, the items were all adorable and I love that this look is "in" right now and so easy to find everywhere. I've seen it at HomeGoods, Marshall's, Amazon and World Market just to name a few!

Walmart Home Decor Finds

Guys, if you had told me years ago that Walmart would be a place I would turn to for cute home decor items... I probably wouldn't have believed you. Practical home items? Absolutely. Affordable home items? Of course. But cute? I didn't think that was Walmart's thing. But apparently I was wrong! Lately on Pinterest I have been searching out all the California Casual/Boho home decor pictures. Every time I open my Pinterest browser I am inundated with pictures like this:

Updated Nursery

Good morning friends and happy Friday! I am finally getting around to sharing our updated nursery pics with you. I did a post about Liam's nursery months ago, but that was before he was born and before we knew he was a boy. It was all gender neutral then but we have switched it up to be a little more boy-ish now. The color scheme is navy and teal with hints of wood to give it a more natural/rustic feel. I will link everything at the bottom if you are curious where it's from. Here it is:

Our Nursery

Good morning! I am finally getting around to posting pictures of our nursery today. If you're new around here, we have a surprise gender baby due in about 4 weeks! Today I am linking up with Erika and Andrea for Friday Favorites.

Lily Grace's Attempt at Jailbreak... Leading Us to Her New Room

Hi friends and happy Friday! About 6-7 weeks ago we had a little bit of a scare when Lily Grace attempted crawling out of her crib during what was supposed to be her nap time. Luckily I had been watching her on the monitor (thank God for a video monitor!) and was able to catch her as she was straddling the edge of the crib before she went down the other side. She was completely silent as she did all of this-- not. a. single. sound! And boy you should've seen the smile on her face and look of accomplishment. If her crawling out of her crib wasn't so terrifying to us new parents, it would've been a sweet moment to see how proud she was.

Marble Contact Paper Before and After Part 2

So a few weeks ago I posted about the mini kitchen makeover we did with marble contact paper and had a few questions about how exactly I did it. Luckily at that point we didn't have the entire kitchen done yet, so I was able to be more diligent with taking progress pictures as we completed it. If you missed the other post, click here to check it out.
