Good morning friends and happy What's Up Wednesday.
What I'm Reminiscing About: In 2020 we had snow for Christmas in Blowing Rock.
What I'm Loving: The holiday season is here and I am hoping to get as much Christmas fun in as we can without it getting too overwhelming. On Thanksgiving night we opened up our matching Christmas pajamas, drank hot cocoa together and came up with our Christmas season bucket list (thanks for the idea Joanne!!):
The following pictures are old because we haven't done this yet these things yet this year, but we have plans to:
Make and decorate Christmas cookies,
Make our homemade ornaments for grandparents,
go to see Christmas lights,
What I'm Working On: Attempting to get ahead on blogging rather than feeling like I'm scrambling to write a post at 8:00 pm the night before it goes live. 😅
What I'm Excited About: All the Christmas fun we are about to have.
This Saturday morning we are meeting Santa, then at night we are going to the Matthews tree lighting festival. It should be a lot of fun!
What I'm Watching/Reading: Ya'll I have fallen WAY off the wagon with reading. That being said, I've watched some great tv the past month or two. 😆 We have watched:
House of the Dragon-- It took us awhile to start this because we wanted to be able to "binge" it, and once we started, we were hooked!! Anyone else watch this and love it? My only complaint was that they switched Rhaenyra's character when they fast-forwarded 10 years, but not everyone's character? Surely if they could do makeup/hair changes to make everyone else look 10 years older they could've done that to the original Rhaenyra too. I liked the "young" Rhaenyra actress better. That being said, I got used to the new one and overall loved the show.
The Crown-- Ooohhh, this is the season when all the Princes Diana drama went down and it was TV gold. It was fun to see actors playing little Prince William and Prince Harry, and gosh does it paint the new King Charles in a not-so-great light.
Limitless-- This one is on Disney+ and all you really need to know is it's Chris Hemsworth with his fabulous Australian accent doing manly things. Devin wanted to watch this one and let's just say I had zero complaints about watching Chris Hemsworth. 😆
And I am currently making my way through Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty. I really like it so far, but I keep falling asleep! I keep making the mistake of waiting until I'm tired to pick it up, and then I only make it through 5-6 pages before I crash.
I'm also reading this Advent Bible study right now and really like it. I look forward to waking up in the morning and reading it.
What I'm Listening To: Christmas music! We mostly tell our Google Home to play "Classic Christmas Songs" or I'll play Pandora "Michael Buble Holiday" station.
What I'm Wearing: I did a post last week of some of my outfits, but here's a run down:
Orange Long Sleeve Crewneck Tee/Skinny Jeans
Flannel Button-Down/Skinny Jeans
Poncho (actually from a boutique but this Amazon one looks similar)/Leggings/Boots (on super sale right now-- the are the most comfortable boots I own!)
Puffer Vest (old, but on Poshmark here)/Gray Tunic/Skinny Jeans/Boots
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: Our sweet girl has a special part in the school Christmas concert and I can't wait to see her! She gets to go on stage in front of the whole school and all the parents and read a part of the Christmas story by herself. She is going to shine!!
Most Recent Amazon Purchase: I was on the hunt for some cute Christmas clothes for the kids and kept coming up short. I texted some girlfriends to see what they were buying and my friend Kristen told me to type in "girls Boden Christmas" in the Amazon search bar... jackpot! They're not actual Boden, but a similar style and significantly cheaper.
Christmas Construction Trucks Shirt
1,000 Hours Outside Update: November was unfortunately not a month where we thrived outside. To be fair, Daylight Savings makes it trickier to play outside (it gets dark so early!) and the flu knocked us out for several days. We still racked up 47 hours this month (as of 11/28), which is roughly an hour and a half per day. I'll take it!
Today I am linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday. Have a great day!
I've watched a couple episodes of the new season of The Crown, and I'm really enjoying it. Diana is so good. I always struggle with meal planning this time of the year...I need to get some motivation. I love the matching Christmas pjs! I always buy my kids new Christmas pjs for their bday. Hayden's outgrowing that a bit, but he still appreciates plaid flannel pj pants haha
