31 Days of Skeleton Antics, 2022

Oh hi there friends and happy Friday! Just like many of the rest of you, I am READY to get into Christmas mode. Devin used to be really big on "no Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving," but over the past few years he has realized that we spend way too much time putting the decorations up only to enjoy them for a few weeks.  We are of the mind that if you're going to go through all the effort of putting them up, you might as well put them up earlier and enjoy it a little longer.

But before we move on to the next big holiday, I want to show you what our skeletons were up to in the month of October. If you don't already know, we have a family of skeletons that we put up in our front yard every October. Every single day we change them so they are doing a different activity. We have a lot of fun with them!

Come and check out what the Skelly family was up to this October:

October 1st: We're back! Hurricane Ian had just come through and our yard was a mess. We decided to go with that and make it part of our theme.

October 2nd: It was a Sunday, and it has not been the best year to be a Carolina Panthers fan... the sign says "They died as they lived, waiting for the Panthers to win a Super Bowl"

October 3rd: They took a trip to the hair salon
October 4th: Reading Halloween books to the kids, who are in their jammies.
October 5th: The spider got stuck in a tree, so the fireman came to help. 😊
October 6th: Time for a little yoga!
October 7th: Time for a little campfire, complete with a skeleton chopping wood.
October 8th: One skeleton taking the spider out for a walk on his leash, while the others are stuck in the spider's web.
October 9th: We hung Liam's swing from a tree and let one of the skeletons go for a swing ride. It took way too long to make this one look like the skeleton was in motion. We probably didn't need to go all out with this one. 😆
October 10th: Lily Grace's request: Rapunzel
October 11th: Basketball time
October 12th: Dr. Frankenstein's monster
October 13th: A Viking raid (via kayak 😆)
October 14th: One skeleton was taking a shower while the other walked in.
October 15th: Lily Grace's request again: Princesses playing princesses
October 16th: Liam's request: skeletons playing cars/trucks
October 17th: The skeletons were having a poker match and they let spider play too.
October 18th: The skeletons turned into witches making some Witches' Brew. I had some orange lights I put inside the cauldron and turned them on at night, it was really cute!
October 19th: The skeletons were playing with some outside toys.
October 20th: Time for a bike and scooter ride!
October 21st: We had a burglar being chased by the police.
October 22nd: Our neighbor works at a brewery and dropped off some empty kegs and empty beer cans for the skeletons to have a party. They had a wild time!
October 23rd: The following day, they regretted their partying ways.
October 24th: Time for a luau!
October 25th: Practicing their soccer skills.
October 26th: A teacher asking her students how many more days until Halloween.
October 27th: Archery practice! If you zoom in, you can see that one of the Skelly's just barely missed getting hit.
October 28th: Take them out to the ball game! The spider is playing catcher.
October 29th: Time for the neighborhood lemonade stand.
October 30th: It was a great day to carve pumpkins!
October 31st: They were costume-ready for Trick or Treating!

The feedback we got from our neighbors about how much they loved the skeletons is all the motivation we need to keep it going for at least another year. We had FedEx drivers, Amazon drivers, and our mailman comment on them throughout the month too. Hearing that we were able to bring a smile to other people's faces made all the extra work worth it. That being said, I am not sad to see them go haha!

Until next year, Skelly fam!

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. Have a nice weekend!
