What I'm Priming: May

Good morning friends and happy Friday!! I hope you all have some fun plans for the weekend ahead. Tonight we are going to the Whitewater Center for some live music and to hang out with friends. I am really looking forward to it!

Today I want to share with you some of our Amazon purchases from the month of May.

A couple weeks ago I stumbled across a new person to follow on Instagram: @samanthabauchmann She makes these super fun charcuterie boards that are outside the box. I saw this hot dog board on her page and thought "how fun! We should make that!" So on Memorial Day we had some friends over and I made one for the party. It was really easy and a big hit. I can't wait to try more of her ideas.

Anyway, we ordered these sleeves for the hot dog board:

They came in a pack of 50 but honestly it was such a fun/easy way to throw a party that I know we will do it again this summer. Probably a few times!

While the hot dog charcuterie board was fun, this one is probably our #1 favorite thing: our Thermacell

We bought our first Thermacell last summer because even though we got our yard sprayed for mosquitos, they were still AWFUL. We finally ended up canceling the yard spray because it clearly wasn't working and started looking into other options. We figured the Thermacell was worth a shot. This thing works like a charm!!! Honest to God, we canceled the yard spray again this year and haven't needed it. The only reason we got a second Thermacell is because our yard is pretty big and we found it didn't cover enough area.

We wanted to be protected from the mosquitos while sitting on the patio, but also wanted the kids to be protected if they were on the swings. So we set one up by the swing set and one by where Devin and I sit and we are all good! If you have a problem with mosquitos in your yard I really can't recommend this enough. We also grabbed these refills to go inside the Thermacell:

Oh Lord... this next one is one I wish we didn't have to buy...

A crib tent for Liam. About a month ago I put Liam down for his nap, closed the door behind me and took about 10 steps down the hallway only to hear the door open back up... with our little guy standing there. I wish I had a picture of his face because he was SO proud of himself! Not only did he climb out, but he did it FAST. We are not ready for him to have this freedom yet!! Liam unfortunately still wakes up in the night on occasion so even though his room is completely baby proofed, I didn't want to worry about what he may be getting into if he wakes up at 2 am. This thing works like a charm-- thank God!! Fingers crossed it buys us another 6 months or so until I'm ready for him to be in his toddler bed.

We grabbed a Pack and Play Tent too because we plan on doing a bit of traveling this summer. If he can climb out of his crib, he can definitely climb out of the Pack and Play. We didn't want to get to the beach/mountains/wherever and then realize "oh no, he's out!" and be in a potentially non-baby proofed room. The $$ is definitely worth my peace of mind.

I grabbed these sticker puzzles as a quiet activity LG can do during Mass. She likes Mass, and honestly does a pretty good job listening along, but likes to have something to do with her hands. These are a perfect quiet activity. I'm thinking they would be great to take to the beach though in case we get a rainy day!

This was an impulse buy that afterwards I thought "did I really need that? I'll probably return it." But then Devin opened the packaging and it was non-returnable so we had to keep it-- oh darn! It turns out I actually LOVE it! I like the brush side for crumbs, but really like the squeegee side for water.  I love that it hangs on the edge of the sink so it isn't visible. Anything that makes cleaning even the slightest bit more fun, am I right? 😉

Then I grabbed this dress but it hasn't come in yet. I can't wait for it! I think it'll be great in the summer with sandals, but could also be cute in the fall with booties.

and this dress which also hasn't come in yet. I saw it and immediately thought "summer" and "picnic". Can't wait to show you once it comes in!

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

  4. Oooh! I am going to have to try that thermacell; mosquitoes just find me like I send out a homing beacon for them.
