Weekend Highlights

Hello friends and happy Monday! I feel like I have a million pictures from our weekend to share with you today, so I will try to narrow it down to just the top 15 or so. Today I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Thanks for reading along!

We kicked off our weekend with a Friday evening picnic at one of our favorite parks and picnic spots. We have been going to this park since the LG was a baby, but last summer we stumbled across this quiet spot tucked away by the lake that is perfect for a family picnic.

On Saturday our YMCA hosted a big Easter Festival from 4-7 and it was a BLAST! They had crafts, multiple bounce houses, several food trucks, they raffled off prizes, and had 3 giant Easter egg hunts for the kids.

While all of the bounce houses were a hit, my kids liked the giant slide one the most.

The egg hunts were split into age groups, which I very much appreciated. The 0-2 year olds got to go first, and it was nice for them to be able to go at their slower pace. Then the 3-6 year olds went, which was a little bit of a faster pace:

We had one little collision as the kids were scrambling all over to get the eggs, but luckily there were no tears.

Then the big kids went and it was total chaos. 😂 I was stressed for the parents of the big kids. There were quite a few crashes but nobody seemed upset so I guess it was all good. I am not in a rush for my kids to be in the big kid egg hunt!!

On Sunday, we were invited to a birthday party but poor Liam woke up with a fever. He and Devin stayed home while LG and I went to the party. The party was at one of those places that has several bounce houses and the kids can go on them over and over and over again. Every single picture I took came out like this one above. Just a blur of children as the jumped from one thing to the next!

The birthday party was located across the street from a LIDL and since we hadn't done our shopping for the week yet, we headed there. Do you have a LIDL near you? We really like ours! It is similar to Aldi in that it is originally a German grocery store, with no frills that has lower prices than Harris Teeter or Publix (our other local grocery stores). Lily Grace likes it because they have kid shopping carts and she gets to "be like a mommy" and have her own cart.

Thanks for reading along with us today! Devin is officially on his way to Ireland, meaning I am holding down the fort until we join him. The countdown is on!

Today I am linking up with Sarah and Holly. Have a great day!!
