10 Things I Say on Repeat... All Day, Every Day

Today I am linking up with The Bolin Bunch for 10 on the 10th.
Today's topic is "10 Things I Say On Repeat... All Day, Every Day". I think this is such a funny theme for a link up and can't wait to read other bloggers responses! I decided to split mine into categories:

-Things I say as a mom
-Things I say as a wife
-Things I say as a teacher

I can't wait to hear if you say some of these things too!

Before we start, the obvious answer to the things I say most as a mom and wife are "I love you", but that doesn't make for a very interesting blog post... so I'm going to tell you the other things I say most often.

As a toddler Mom:
1. "Lily, do you want to give mommy a hug/kiss?" Most often the response to this is "No! I playing/reading/climbing" but it's always worth trying for 😉 I get a few "yes" answers a day, so I take them when I can get them.
2. "Please don't put that in your nose"-- What is so fun about putting things in your nose at this age? I don't understand! I have to watch her like a hawk!
3. "Oh no, did you bonk your head?"-- We are at that awkward height where every table, countertop, doorknob, random thing is at her level. This leads to a lot of accidental head bumps. Luckily she's actually pretty aware of this and it's rare for her to bump it hard, but I am ready for her to be just a teensy bit taller and in the head-bump-free zone.
4. "You're such a silly goose!"-- Lily Grace is at the age where she is developing her sense of humor and LOVES to make the people around her laugh. She will do whatever silly thing she can to get people to laugh and we all love being her audience.

As a wife:
5. "Stop putting your dirty clothes NEXT TO the hamper and please put them IN THE hamper. IT'S RIGHT THERE!!"-- Anyone else's husband do this?? I swear it is taking years off my life...

6. "No, making the bed is not a pointless chore. Yes, I understand that we climb right back into it at the end of the day."-- It takes less than 3 minutes, yet I can guarantee you I am the one who does it 95% of the time.

7. "What do you want for dinner? No, I don't want that. No, I don't want that either. Okay, I'll just figure something out."-- It's probably annoying that I do this, but I do it almost every single day. One day I'll learn my husband is not a mind reader who can automatically know what I want to eat for dinner and just say "we are having tacos tonight, hope that's okay".

8. "Thank you"-- I'm giving him a hard time in the above quotes, but Dev really does help around the house a lot. He loves to do the dishes and fold laundry, and I don't mind that for a single second!

As a teacher:
9. "Put your name on your paper, point to it, show someone else near you that you put your name on your paper"-- Nameless papers have got to be a top 10 teacher pet peeve, am I right?
10. "Is that really your best work?"-- I think this is unfortunately something all of us teachers have to say to some of our students from time to time. Especially this time of year as we are getting nearer to spring break and the kids are starting to get stir crazy.

  1. Thank you so much for linking up with me! I LOVED your list! I relate so much to you as a mom, wife, and teacher! No name papers automatically go in the trash can in my classroom, but I teach 8th graders and they know better! Hope you have a great day!

  3. Haha! My husband feels the same way about making the bed and I just don't get it. My day does not feel complete if the bed's not made. Homeschooling my 3 boys they don't have to put names on their papers, however, my middle son has decided to go to high school the year after next and I just KNOW he's going to be that kid who never remembers his name... as a former teacher I know just how annoying that is. I'm trying to drill that into his head.
