Friday Favorites

We made it to another Friday! Woohoo! Today I am linking up with Andrea for Friday Favorites.

Before we begin, the winner of the Amazon gift card is:

Renee Powers DesRochers!!

Congratulations!! I e-mailed you last night. Please e-mail me back ASAP to claim your prize!

Today's post is a variety of several favorites from the past few weeks, starting with...
I stumbled across this lotion on another blog last week and after hearing about it countless times over the past year or so, I finally decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. I really like it! I still use the tanning wipes I always use (I wrote an entire post about them here), but I put this on once those start to wear off. I use the wipes every other week now and use this lotion in between for a gradual glow. I will say, I think fair to medium is the way to go for a more natural looking tan. I also grabbed the face lotion and think that gives the perfect hint of a glow without being too strong.
I am finally feeling better morning sickness wise and am SO grateful for the return to feeling better. Now I don't feel great all day every day, but the pockets of nausea only come every few days which I can totally live with! I had called my doctor to see if there was anything I could do to help my morning sickness without having to take any medicine and she said to check my prenatal vitamins. Apparently the vitamins I had been taking had a relatively low dosage of B6 and B12. By switching vitamins and now taking one with higher B6 and B12 counts, I feel like a new person. Last time I was pregnant I took a prescription prenatal vitamin because my insurance paid for it, and that vitamin had a higher B6 and B12 count as well. It may also help that I am 12 weeks along now and may be just on the other side of the first trimester yuckiness. Whatever the reason, I'll take it!!

Although this week has been frigid, just last week we had several days of weather in the upper 60's... so this teacher momma broke out the skirts! Anyone else hate wearing pants to work? I know they're more practical, but I guess it's just the feminine part of me that loves a wearing skirts and dresses. I've been wearing these two outfits both to work and then to church.

And then this week it was way too cold for skirts, so I copied Andrea Nine's adorable outfit she wore earlier in the week and put on my white pants!

Another favorite has been these ginger chews:
Chimes Orange Ginger Chews, 2-Ounce Containers (Pack of 20)
Prior to switching out my vitamins I had been sneaking a couple of these ginger chews throughout the day. These ginger chews definitely made a difference, and I still have them on handy for when those rare pockets of nausea hit. I keep a handful of them in my purse and the rest in my nightstand.
Earlier this week I did my monthly book review, and told you all that my favorite book from last month was Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon. If you haven't read it yet, it was a cute look at life in the South. She had a bunch of recipes and pictures of how she decorates her home. I loved it for the pictures almost as much as what she wrote!

Another favorite that has been on repeat lately is OPI's Alpine Snow. I just keep painting my nails with this over and over again. It's a neutral so it goes with everything, and it is bright and makes me happy. Oddly enough the little girls at my school LOVE this color and keep commenting on it. Trust me-- they never pay attention to my nail color. So apparently this color is a hit with everyone, regardless of your age!
And my final favorite of this week is that I finally found a good STEM Professional Development to attend! Ladies, I am going to BOSTON this spring!! I will be attending the Engineering is Elementary conference at the Museum of Science Boston and I could not be more excited. I already have several of their engineering curriculum units and I think they are designed very well for the elementary age. It'll be so nice to get to see what else I can learn from them later this spring.

I hope you all have a great weekend! Stay warm, spring is almost here!!!

  1. Ooh! Boston in the spring is so nice and we just love the science museum. We have literally spent an entire day there (twice) and still have not seen everything.
