Good Morning and Happy What's Up Wednesday! I know I said this earlier in the week, but I cannot believe March is already over. Where on earth did this month go? Does anybody else feel that way??
Today I am linking up with Sheaffer and Shay today to share what's been going on around here.

What We're Eating: Devin is in Indonesia for work this week which means Lily Grace and I will be spending a lot of time at Nana and Pop Pop's house. We will be eating dinner with them almost every night this week and I am very much looking forward to not being the head chef!
What I'm Reminiscing About: My phone keeps sending me flashbacks from 1 year ago today and I love looking at my sweet girl one year ago compared to now. She looks like such a baby back then compared to the big girl she is now!
What I'm Loving: The warmer weather, the trees and flowers blooming, the mosquitos aren't out yet... I can't get enough of my favorite season!
These trees are blooming everywhere you look in Charlotte right now and I cannot get enough of them!!

What We've Been Up To: We have been trying to spend as much time as possible outside soaking in the warmer temperatures and sunny skies. In the South we go from spring to summer REAL quick and I know these beautiful days are numbered. Our temps will regularly be in the 90's before we know it.
What I'm Dreading: It is absolutely horrible, but we have to surrender Tucker to the Humane Society this week. Unfortunately this has been a long time coming. As he gets older he is starting to get grouchier and we have had multiple biting incidents in the past 6 months. Nothing major thank God, but he has drawn blood and we are too worried that his next incident could be Lily Grace. We have worked for months trying to find him another home, but not surprisingly, nobody wanted to take in a dog with a history of biting. We thought about trying to keep him and working with a trainer, but after speaking with several trainers they said it was possible to correct this issue but not a guarantee, and with a toddler and another baby on the way we don't want to take that risk. We are devastated and feel like we are losing a family member, but know that our children's safety is our #1 priority so it has to happen. Have any of you ever had to handle this? I will take ANY advice you have.
What I'm Excited About: Our next trip coming up is to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in June and I cannot wait! We are an outdoorsy family and I think this may be the perfect place for us to get some fun activities in.
What I'm Watching/Reading:
I am finishing the book Red Notice and am hooked! Some of the things that occur in this book are so outlandish that I cannot believe this is a true story, but it is! It is about an American citizen who forms his own investing company in Russia but angers several wealthy and powerful Russian people along the way by exposing their corruption/greed. It is incredible the lengths they go to, and get away with, in order to take him down. I have my monthly book review scheduled for next month and I'll tell you more about it and the other books I read this month.
As for watching... my girlfriends Kelly, Erica and Ari finally convinced me to start watching Game of Thrones and let me tell you... I don't love it. I am someone who gets really bothered by violence and wondering if I will even make it through the first season before I give up. That being said, Breaking Bad is one of my favorite TV shows of all time and it definitely wasn't violence free so maybe I will end up liking it? Any of you who weren't hooked on GoT from the beginning?

What I'm Listening To: I'm still listening to my same old favorite podcasts, especially The Daily and Rise. I don't listen to every single episode, I will usually let a week or two go by and then pick and choose the ones that interest me to download. I try to stay away from the hyper-politicized ones on the Daily and listen to the more neutral episodes. One of my favorite episodes was a few months ago about how app companies sell your mobile location to various advertising companies. For example if you drive past a Verizon wireless every single day on the way to/from work, a company could sell that info to Verizon, who would then put an ad up on your phone.
What I'm Wearing: I did a whole post about what I've been wearing lately here. Here are a few pictures from that post:
I linked all of the details in this post here if you're interested.

What I'm Doing This Weekend: It is supposed to be mid-70's and sunny here on Saturday so you better believe we will be outside as much as possible!
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: Next month is Devin's birthday and we are looking forward to celebrating. He shares a birthday week with a few of our really close friends so they typically like to get everyone together for one big birthday bash. It'll be such a fun excuse to get everyone together to celebrate.
What's My Favorite Easter Side Dish: Deviled eggs, hands down!! I like to make a variety of different ones. Some with paprika sprinkled on top, some with bacon and chives sprinkled on top, sometimes I'll throw a little chili powder on a few for some added heat. You really can't go wrong with deviled eggs.
I hope you all have a great rest of the week! See you back here on Friday for Friday Favorites!

Spring has not quite arrived in Indiana yet but I absolutely love all the spring blooming trees! My mom makes the best deviled eggs in and they are requested for every single function and I love them but her hash brown casserole is probably my favorite. I love all your outfits so much! So get this, we just started Game of Thrones as well after all this time, and we loved breaking bad, we are only three episodes in to GOT but I’m just not sure what to think about it yet. I hope you have a super sweet Day!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I hope you have her recipe! Please share!!
DeleteYour outfits are super cute!! I sure know what you mean...nice weather without the mosquitoes is divine!! We just got rid of our snow here in Wisconsin, so hopefully bugless, nice weather is on it's way!!!
ReplyDeleteHopefully!!!
DeleteYour weather looks so nice! Our snow in MN in finally melting and we will see our first 60 degree day today since last October! I am so excited for Spring. I also believe I have the same blue throw blanket as you have on your bed! Yes, I notice those things :) Have a great Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteHaha Pottery Barn?!?
DeleteI love deviled eggs too! The weather here has been gorgeous, and I'm trying to soak all of it up before the heat and mosquitoes arrive. When my kids were about 1 and 2 years old, I took our cat to the SPCA. She was old and grouchy. She had been my husband's cat before we got married, and she was used to being alone most of the time. This did not mix well with toddlers. It was hard, but really the best decision. It is really hard to re-home an older or mean pet, for good reason. Trust your mama instincts. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, it's so comforting to know that other people have had to go through this too. It's absolutely horrible.
DeleteI love deviled eggs, too! I only seem to eat them at Easter!
ReplyDeleteMy husband loves GoT. I watch it with him, but I'm not really into it, and I watched every episode so far. Like you, I'm not into violence, and some of it makes me cringe. It's a good show...just not for me!
That's what I'm thinking! Great for some people, I'm just not one of them.
DeleteI'm with you on deviled eggs and this beautiful spring weather! I'm sorry about surrendering your little guy but I completely understand.
ReplyDeleteThank you 😊
DeleteYou are going to have a blast in Steamboat, Co. Do you have plans for while you are out there already? My parents own a place near the slopes and I am already counting down the days till my next visit. I am hoping to get there for Easter ... we will have to see. If you need some recommendations for things to do please ask! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh yes! I will be reaching out as we get closer to the trip. Thank you!!!
