Hi there friends! I hope you all had a nice weekend! Over the weekend we celebrated our big guy turning 3. Come and have a look at what we did!
On Friday I was able to come to Liam's classroom to have lunch with him and pass out cookies. He was so excited to have me sit by him at lunch-- I love this sweet age!
You can tell his excitement by the blur in this picture. 😂
On Saturday morning we celebrated with a Lightning McQueen themed party. We told all of Liam’s friends to bring their bike/scooter/wheels of choice to the parking lot behind our back fence, set up some cones to make a mini "speedway" and let the kids have their own "race around the speedway". It was perfect!!
The lower lot (the one we always play in) is actually kind of tricky for cars to get to, so we never had to worry about anyone driving through while the kids were playing. The cars you see parked in the pictures are Liam’s friends’ parents’ cars.
The kids rode their bikes and scooters for a bit, played with some chalk, blew bubbles and had some snacks. The parents were all able to relax and chit chat the whole time. It was by far our cheapest party, the easiest party, and dare I say.. most fun party?? I think because it was so laid back and the kids were all happily occupied and safe, the parents were all relaxed and had a great time.
Here’s a little look at our snack table:
Veggies and ranch as “Dipsticks”
Potato chips as “Mater’s Taters” and trail mix as our “nuts and bolts.”
Fruit skewer “traffic lights.”
Liam’s Cars cake—- he had already tried driving his cars once, hence the little skid mark in the frosting. 😊
We had temporary tattoos as “Ramone’s Body Art.” Those were a big hit!
And then our drinks and goodie bags. The goodie bags had bubbles, little matchbox cars, and some more Cars tattoos.
Each kid also got to take home a water blaster (which you know my kids love!! Hours of free entertainment!).
The party was a big hit, and so easy! We had several friends say they want to do a bike/scooter party there in the future too.
And yes, this really was the best picture anyone could get of the 4 of us. 😆
What a genius idea for a party! I bet no one has been invited to one where they could bring their riding toys and I bet the parents were thrilled! So smart!
