Hello there! I hope you all had a nice weekend! Today the Not Just a Mom crew is linking up to share our favorite workout places.
I split this up into two categories: my ideal workout locations and my typical workout locations. My ideal ones are the places where I have worked out in the past and would love to workout again, but due to the location are not realistic options for me to workout regularly. Let's be honest though, they make for a much prettier picture than the track at the gym. 😆. Let's have a look:
Ideal Workout Places
As many of you probably already know, I love running, yoga, paddle boarding, kayaking and hiking. Even when we travel, I still love to try to do these things if possible. When I first sat down to write this post, I thought about my favorite places I've ever worked out, and immediately this hike popped into my mind:
Our Air B&B was in Riomaggiore, but we hiked the trails to all 5 of the towns (over the course of a few days).
If I am being honest, 9 times out of 10 I am running on the track at our YMCA. If the weather is nice, I'll do the outside track. If it's rainy/too dark/etc., I'll do the inside track. That's quick and easy for a weekday morning. That being said, on the weekends we like to mix it up a little bit. My favorite places/things to do are:
Paddle board or kayak at the White Water Center
Go to hot yoga at my favorite studio
Go hiking on some of our local trails, like Crowder's Mountain.
Or if we are visiting my parents in Blowing Rock, then I love to run or hike some of the trails up there.
Oh I'd love to try those Hawaiian hikes for sure!! I'd definitely hike each day if I could; nice long trails with beautiful views or waterfalls are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love hiking. It's really my favorite way to see nature in an area!
ReplyDeleteI need to get into hiking more. I enjoy it when I do it just never do it enough.
ReplyDeleteWe are also active vacation people. We love a hike and a run. I am reading Our Italian Summer right now and am now obsessed with Positano, Cinque Terre, Capri, etc. I would love to hike there someday!
ReplyDeleteYou've hiked in so many beautiful places! I wish I had more opportunities to paddle board. I've done it a time or two and enjoyed it.
ReplyDeletePaddleboarding is one of our favorite family activites. I wish we had somewhere closer to do it often! That's awesome that your Y has an indoor and an outdoor track. Your hikes look beautiful! I'm adding Cinque Terre to my travel list now!
ReplyDeleteOops, It's Sarah from Sunshine & Books. :)
