4th of July Fun

I hope everybody had a nice 4th of July! We had a fun, busy day that ended with one worn out toddler, one worn out dog, and two worn out parents. A good worn out though, so we will happily take it :)

We started the morning at a little parade through the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte. This parade started at an elementary school where they were having a little festival. There was live music, a fire truck, an army Humvee, food trucks, popsicle trucks, and face painting. It was super cute, but would've been a lot better if it were in the SHADE!! At 10:30 am I think it was already in the upper 80's... and humid too. Gotta love that weather in the South in July, right? By the end of the parade we were all melting.

Please note our extremely active toddler in all of these pictures. When did getting her to sit still long enough for a picture get to be so hard?? We might have to start taking more "action shots" nowadays.

"Mom, it's hot and I'm not into taking pictures. Put me down"- Lil

Lily Grace has a new obsession with glasses... she loves pointing to them and trying to say the word "glasses". So when we pulled out some for her to wear today she was SO excited! We have given her sunglasses to wear in the past and she had no interest, they usually ended up broken or lost within days. So after holding out on her for the past few weeks, she was super pumped to be getting her own pair again.

After the parade, we went home and had a cookout with friends. I wish I had taken more pictures but apparently I was too busy having fun and playing hostess. This is one picture a friend sent to us afterwards.

Lil was wearing her Patriotic swimsuit because she was playing in her baby pool with friends.

Have a great rest of the week!
