Whats Up Wednesday

Happy Whats Up Wednesday! I originally posted this a week ago (my bad!) and am re-linking it today. Before we start, I am doing a giveaway for a box of One Stop Bow Shop hair bows and a $10 coupon this evening. To enter, follow us on Instagram @lcdarrell and comment on the picture with the hair bows (it's pretty obvious which one it is!). Only a handful of people have entered so far, so if you're interested, give it a shot!

Today I will be answering all of these fun questions below:

What We're Eating This Week- We have another beach vacation coming up in about 2 weeks so we are trying to be as healthy as possible around here! I am Pinteresting a lot of healthy recipes like this:

I love salads but this has some good ideas

I mean I love a salad and all, but you can only eat so many of them before you start to get sick of them. So some recipes similar to the one up top, and LOTS of infused water like this one:

Jazz up your daily hydration with this strawberry, lime, cucumber, and mint infused water. It is refreshing and bright, with just a touch of sweetness!

What I'm Reminiscing About: Our trip to the Turks and Caicos. Does anybody else get home from a trip and immediately begin planning their next one?? Its like I go through vacation withdrawals and need another one to look forward to, even if it is an entire year away!

What I'm Loving: Having so much time to spend with our precious little nugget and work on learning some new things. I have a girlfriend who is really into photography and I'm trying to learn a little bit more about it myself. We've had a DSLR camera for years and I just haven't taken the time to learn how to use it until this summer. I started taking classes this past weekend and now I'm super into it. I downloaded Adobe Lightroom and have been playing around with some of the presets. Any other photography lovers out there who use Lightroom? Which presets do you use? I've been using VSCO too and so far that one is significantly easier/less intimidating.

What We've Been Up To:
This past weekend we went for a family run (we've been training for the Charlotte Half Marathon and Dev is training for a Half Ironman), and then spent some time at the pool.

On Sunday we went to one of Lil's best friends' birthday parties.

What I'm Dreading:
Absolutely nothing at the moment!

What I'm Working On:
Learning how to use our camera! Anyone familiar with Lightroom or VSCO? I'll take any tips or tricks you'd want to share!

What I'm Excited About:
Our upcoming family reunion to Hilton Head. Every year our family does a big family reunion with aunts, uncles, cousins, etc at the beach. It is such a great opportunity to get to see everybody once a year and really catch up.

What I'm Reading:

I just finished Liane Moriarty's book Truly Madly Guilty and loved it! Now I'm onto The Secret Life of Violet Grant by Beatriz Williams.

What I'm Listening To:
Ben Rector on repeat. I just tell Alexa to play his songs starting in the morning, and he stays on pretty much all day. My favorite is Kids.

What I'm Wearing:
I'm not sure if this counts, but I'm wearing a lot of different braids in my hair this summer. I figure I'm out having fun with Lil and don't feel like drying/straightening/curling my hair every day, so I'll heat style it 2-3 times a week and throw it into a braid on the other days. My favorites are from Amber Fillerup at Barefoot Blonde (anybody else follow along with her and her sweet family?? They are truly the cutest)

Barefoot Blonde
I basically have this braid on repeat.

What I'm Doing This Weekend:
It'll probably be a mountain weekend for Lily Grace and I! Dev is out of town for work so I will probably just be relaxing in Blowing Rock with my family.

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month:
A new school year beginning and a MUCH better schedule for me than last year. Last year was my first year teaching part time and my schedule was a little too crazy/hectic. My principal is amazing and was able to help me find a way to make it work so I will have a better balance while at school.

What Else Is New:
That's pretty much it!

I'm going to have to go with our trip to Turks and Caicos earlier this month. It was absolutely stunning!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Can't wait to follow along and see what ya'll are doing too. Leave me a comment with a link to your What's Up Wednesday so I can check it out and don't forget to follow along for the giveaway!

  1. Your little girl is adorable! Jealous of your trip to Turks and Caicos-so fun! I would still be reminiscing about that too :)

  2. Turks and Caicos looks amazing. That would be my favorite part of summer too! I love an easy hair style in the summer.
