Monthly Goals for February

This has nothing to do with today's post, but can we talk about this beautiful cotton candy sky I saw leaving my neighborhood on the way to work this week?

I mean I just look at that sunrise and think what an incredible artist God is. Right??

Anyway, onto today's post! I wanted to share a quick look at my goals for the upcoming month. Here we go:
1. Declutter-- I've already written about my plans to declutter here, but so far I am LOVING the feel of slowly getting rid of our junk. I love that I can do a little bit at a time and not feel overwhelmed by doing it all at once. So far this decluttering plan is working. Yes, I realize this is the easy part, it's only going to get harder. But that's okay, I am honestly looking forward to it!
2. "No Spend" Month-- Devin and I have a few friends who told us they had done a "no spend" month back in January in order to "reset" after the crazy spending of the holidays. This means no going out to eat, no going to Starbucks on a whim, no impulse buys at Target, no buying new clothes, no buying "wants"... just "needs". So far it has been a bit of a struggle. I'm beginning to be more aware of how often I would swing through our Starbucks drive thru for an afternoon pick-me-up, or go to Target to buy 1 item and accidentally leave with 10. I am excited about this though because I think after a good "reset" we will both have a healthier attitude towards spending.
3. Read 3 Books-- So right now I am simultaneously reading two. I'm hoping that I can knock them out by the end of the week and then be on to my 3rd ASAP. Who knows, maybe I'll even be able to squeeze a 4th one in?
4. Mail Out Homemade Valentine's By 2/8-- We have almost all of our homemade Valentine's completed and ready to go! Just about a half dozen left to do. I'm thinking the sooner we get these out, the sooner people will be able to enjoy them. They also have given us an activity to do on the afternoons when Lily Grace doesn't nap (which unfortunately is becoming more often than not... when did your kiddos stop napping?! 2.5 seems way too young to me!)
5. Workout in the Morning Before Work-- I'm trying to get as many early morning workouts in as I can because I have found that if I don't go in the morning, I won't go at all. Something inevitably comes up and I don't have the time or the energy to workout later. I'm being realistic about this and I understand that I probably won't be able to do this every day, but I'll consider it a "win" if I can get 3-4 workouts in a week.

What are your goals for the month? I love to know what goals other people set for themselves because it might spark an idea for me!!

  2. First of all, let's talk about that house in your first photo - is that someone's single dwelling home? Or is it a business or something, I can't make out the sign. It's gorgeous!
Also my 1st son stopped napping at 2 and my 2nd son stopped at 2.5. It made it so much easier to put them to bed at night and felt like it opened up our days for more things. We still have some quiet time.

    1. It's actually a duplex! The sign is from the construction company that built them. They keep tearing down all the old houses in my neighborhood (like mine) and building beautiful new homes likes those. Trust me, my house looks NOTHING like that!!!!

And you're making me see the silver lining to our nap days coming to an end, but I'm not sure I'm ready yet!!
