Life Lately

Hey There! I hope you all had a nice week and are looking forward to the weekend ahead. Devin is taking Lily Grace camping at a real campground on Saturday and I'm not sure which one of them is more excited.

Today I wanted to do a little Life Lately post. The last time I did one of these posts we were getting ready to move back into our house. So in the spirit of showing you our real actual life, I'll show you a glympse of what our house looked like for those first few weeks of February:

Do you see why I needed to take a little time off from blogging in order to get our lives somewhat back to normal? Doesn't it figure that Devin's work required him to come back into the office the exact week that we moved? So I was wrangling a super active baby, a 3 year old, and also trying to deal with that mess... all by myself! My parents were in Atlanta with my older sister and her family. So, yikes! I saw this on Pinterest referencing quarantine parenting, but it felt right for my life during the time period when we moved back in. 😂

But little by little I chipped away at the mess and it started to look more like this:

After moving back in we realized we wanted a couple dining chairs from IKEA (the ones from my dining nook post). So one day after Dev was finished with work, we drove up to IKEA to grab them. Lily Grace brought Elsa with her:

And by the end of the night, Elsa was definitely starting to look a little worse for the wear.

Devin and I could not stop laughing.

Elsa was just trying to show some solidarity for how I was feeling at that particular moment. 😂 This still cracks me up.

Anyway, in other news.. this little guy is really getting into art and I LOVE it! He loves to color with his crayons, and believe it or not he is also really into painting. This blows my mind for an 18 month old.

Now I will be honest, he is nowhere near "really" coloring yet. I think he just sees his big sister do art a lot and he wants to be just like her. It's a little bit of a "monkey see, monkey do" situation. Regardless, I love it and am trying to soak up the fact that he sits still for 5 minutes while trying to do art... because otherwise he is a little whirlwind!

Speaking of whirlwind, in an effort to get the kiddos out of the house for a bit during a rainy week we headed to the pet store.

It was a big hit!

I got my first vaccine!!!!! I got the Pfizer shot, and am so happy to be one step closer to normal life.

Lily Grace has been performing a lot of puppet shows for Liam:

Which warms my heart of course.

She also loves to push him on the swing.

They are turning into little best friends and it melts me into a puddle.\

We have also been spending a lot of time baking around here. This apron she has on was my apron from when I was a little girl. I have the fondest memories of my sisters and I baking with our mom and it makes me so happy to be able to share these same memories with my own kids.

So that's what we have been up to around here.. nothing too exciting or outside the ordinary, but fun nonetheless. On Tuesday we are finally leaving for our beach trip and I cannot wait!!!!!! I will be blogging all next week since I plan to have the posts written in advance, but feel free to keep up with us at the beach on Instagram @lcdarrell.

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you! It's nice to feel at peace while at home, rather than a crazy chaotic mess!

  3. Good job! It's a lot of work getting a house back together, much less with two kids in tow and a hubby gone to work. It all looks so great.
