First Day of Wee Ski Lessons

Hello friends and happy Monday! It sounds like quite a few of us got snow over the weekend, and I hope you all were able to get out and enjoy it! Today's post will be short and sweet as we are still out and about enjoying the snow. I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday.

On Friday afternoon our sweet girl had her very first ski lessons, and she and I were both really excited. Devin had to work Friday, so the kids and I left Charlotte, drove the 1 hour and 45 minutes up to Blowing Rock. We dropped Liam off with my parents and then LG and I were ready to hit the slopes!

Ya'll the whole process of getting checked in, getting our lift tickets, getting our boots and skis, getting our locker, going to the bathroom one last time and getting over to the ski lessons was an ordeal! She was very cooperative but the whole process took us close to an hour and a half, which felt like an eternity! We finally made it to the ski lessons and our sweet girl immediately connected with her teacher and was ready!

If I'm being honest, I had very low expectations. After all, she is only 4 and had never attempted anything like skiing before. I told her instructor as I dropped her off, "I have zero expectations of her skiing, I just hope she has fun". Well luckily our girl took to skiing like a duck to water! She learned how to put her skis on, take them off, get on/off the conveyor belt for the bunny hill, and could even make it down the bunny hill all by herself! After a one hour lesson! Look out X Games, here she comes! 😉

Unfortunately I didn't get a whole lot of pictures throughout the day. After her lessons we grabbed a snack, and did the bunny hill together a couple dozen more times. By this time it was around 5:00 and Devin came to pick her up. I took the chance to do a couple blue squares and black diamonds before calling it a day, and I was able to grab this picture from the top of one of the black diamonds:

This picture doesn't do it justice, but you could see the Blue Ridge Mountains extend for miles and miles. It was beautiful!

Now if anybody needs us for the rest of the day, we will be here:

Before the reality of school and work set back in tomorrow! I hope you all have a great week! See you back here Friday.
