Friday Favorites

Hello friends and happy Friday! With the holiday on Monday and a snow day on Tuesday, this week has flown by!! I can't believe it's already another weekend! Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites.

Here's a look at our week:

Favorite Activities:

SNOW!! We were lucky enough to get roughly a foot of snow in Blowing Rock over the weekend and our entire family was on cloud 9!

Devin insisted on wearing his mask because it "kept his face warm" 😆 It wasn't a bad idea, as you can see we were all getting pelted with wind/snow.

We went sledding...

 built snowmen...

a snow Elsa (kind of a stretch, but we made do with what we had 😆)...

and just generally played in the snow.

We don't get snow often in Charlotte, so we loved having the chance to drive up to Blowing Rock to play. Charlotte did get a little bit of snow, but it had almost completely melted by the time we got home on Tuesday. My kids are already asking when we can go play in the snow again-- here's hoping the weather allows us to get some!

Yesterday one of Lily Grace's besties came over and they spent a good chunk of their playtime coloring these giant coloring pages together.

Please note the princess dresses they wore for the entire play date. 😊

Here are the coloring pages they did:

If you have a little one at home who loves coloring and loves princesses, this is a great way to spend some time!

Favorite Foods:

We made these for dinner last night and they were fantastic:

Portobello mushroom fajitas

If years ago you had told me that I would one day end up eating a plant based/vegan diet I would have laughed out loud. I can tell you my response would've been "but I love food too much to give up anything delicious!" But here's the thing... I don't feel like I'm giving anything up at all. Instead I'm just substituting one delicious recipe for another, but also have found a way to feel less sluggish throughout the day. It's a win/win.

Favorite Outfits:

I had been in a rut there for awhile where I basically lived in workout clothes. Not that there's anything wrong with that, in fact it's pretty practical as a busy SAHM to young kids. But I wanted to start getting back into the habit of wearing "regular" clothes. Here's what I put together:

Boots/Leggings/Shirt (old from J. Crew, but similar here)/Vest

That's a quick glance at our week, I hope you all have a nice weekend!

  2. All that snow! That’s so fun. I bet your kids loved it. We’ve been getting snow a few inches at a time. I love the girls in their princess dresses. So sweet

  3. I love the look of those fajitas! My older son claims he doesn't like mushrooms so I haven't been buying many portabellas lately, but maybe I'll do some anyway and convince him mushrooms are delicious!

  5. Those fajitas look delicious! My son and I were saying last winter that the one plus of masks was that they kept our faces nice and warm outside in the cold weather.
