31 Days of Skeletons!

 Hi friends!

Today I want to share with you all the fun skeleton posings our neighborhood did for the month of October! The neighbors went all out and we had a blast doing this together. We had such positive feedback about how much the different families had working together to pose them!

Before we get to that-- I wanted to give you a heads up that Old Navy has their matching holiday pajamas on super sale right now (as I write this on Wednesday), and we snagged some! The last two years I waited until  mid-November and then it's hard to find a matching set that has everyone's size. I'm happy to have that checked off our to-do list!!

This is the pattern we went with this year:

Now, onto skeletons!
We are SO LUCKY to live in a neighborhood where everybody knows each other and gets along well. It's fun because we are such a diverse group of people (racially, religiously, politically) yet all genuinely really really enjoy each other's company. Sometimes on the news and social media, it can feel like our worlds are so divided... yet that isn't what we experience at home. Is your life like that? Super diverse yet everyone coexists so well? I hope so :)

Back in September, when we knew we wanted to do the skeletons but our October was going to be crazy, we sent out a neighborhood-wide email asking for help. I said we would love to do them again, but are afraid we won't be able to keep up! I attached a sign-up genius and hoped for the best, thinking maybe if we got 3-4 people to sign up, at least it would be 3-4 fewer days we would have to pose them. By the end of the month, we had 13 families sign up-- and some of them signed up for multiple days! I loved seeing the creativity behind everyone's ideas. Here they are:
October 1st- "Summer fun"
October 2nd- "Cookout"
October 3rd- "Dinosaur Dig"
October 4th- "Photo Shoot"
October 5th- "Lacrosse"
October 6th- "Cleaning Crew"
October 7th- "Raking Leaves"
October 8th- "School Theme" I loved the details on this one!
October 9th- "Singing in the Rain"
October 10th- "Pumpkin Patch"
October 11th- "Relay Race"

October 12th- We forgot to take a picture of this one, but it was Snow White and her Prince! They were wearing our kids' dress up clothes.
October 13th- "Gone Fishing"
October 14th- "Construction Crew"
October 15th- "Boy Scouts"

October 16th
October 17th- "Baseball"
October 18th- "Mean Girls" It was a Wednesday, and on Wednesdays they wear pink-- too cute!
October 19th- "Racing"
October 20th- "Rock band"
October 21st- "Puppet Show"
October 22nd- "BMX"
October 23rd- "Night at the Brewery"
October 24th- "Mad Scientists"
October 25th- "Morning Coffee"
October 26th- "Happy Halloween Ya Filthy Animals!"
October 27th- "Pirate Treasure"
October 28th- "What happened last night?!" Ya'll there is quite a story behind this one! On the night of the 27th, a drunk driver was driving on the main road that our neighborhood connects to. He hit a power line (he was okay), but he panicked, got out of the car, ran and hid from the cops in our neighborhood. The cops were patrolling the neighborhood at 3 am looking for him and found him hiding in someone's yard. Yikes!! Anyway, we put this up the next morning.
October 29th- "WWE Wrestling"
October 30th- "Pool Party"
October 31st- "Costumes and Candy"

What a fun year!! Our skeletons definitely looked a little worse for the wear by the end of the month. I know they are technically posable skeletons, but I don't think they are supposed to be re-posed every single day for 31 days, year after year. We had a lot of limbs fall off by the end of the month hahaha

Thank you for following along today! I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. Have a fall-tastic weekend :)

  4. Those are all so fun and fabulous! How fun that it became a whole neighborhood thing. And yes I do find that I don't feel any of those divisions the news seems to intent on highlighting (and making worse!).
