What's Up Wednesday

Good morning and happy What's Up Wednesday! We have been very busy lately so I am excited to fill you in on the many things going on around our house. Let's get started!
What We're Eating This Week: After a weekend of eating delicious but not so healthy food, we are trying to be as healthy as possible. We are having green smoothies for breakfast, salads for lunch, and healthy dinners whenever possible. My absolute favorite smoothie is our peanut butter banana smoothie... there is a full cup of spinach in there and you cannot even taste it. I'll try to post the recipe later this week if I can. We also made Andrea's Southwest Bowls last week and are hooked!

(Andrea's picture, not mine!)
This is easily one of our favorite recipes EVER. There is just something about the lime juice and cilantro in that rice, and then combining it with the aioli... yum!
What I'm Reminiscing About: Ya'll... we are 95% done setting up the nursery and have gone through all our old baby stuff: clothes, tummy time mat, baby bathtub insert, etc. I'm clearly super pregnant and hormonal, but I get teary multiple times a day remembering sweet Lily Grace in all of these old clothes/items.
I mean newborn baby clothes truly look like they are made for baby dolls... how were our babies ever once that small??
What I'm Loving: Lily Grace has gone to 2 weeks of camp this summer and I was nervous as all heck about it... but she LOVED it! She is going to camp where I was a camp counselor in college and it is just one more thing to bring me all the feels this summer.
What We've Been Up To: Potty training has taken over our lives, but it has actually gone REALLY well.
I read the book Oh Crap! and honestly think it made this transition so much easier than it could've been. (Random side note-- this book is one of the thousand reasons I love blogging... one of YOU suggested this book and I never would've known to read it otherwise!) We didn't follow the book to a tee and ended up having a setback, but all in all this girl was "potty trained" within a week. We have very few accidents now and she gets so proud of herself when she uses the potty. Hearing that sweet little voice say "Mommy I did it!" with an accompanying smile is enough to make my heart melt.
What I'm Dreading: Our next big transition... toddler bed. I am now 8 months pregnant and we are going to be needing that crib sooner rather than later. I know the baby will sleep in a bassinet in our room for the first several weeks anyway, but our pediatrician recommended moving the crib out before the baby comes because the baby will be enough of a transition for Lily Grace to handle... we don't want her to be tackling both at the same time. I am really hoping this won't be as big of a deal as I'm making it out to be in my **crazy hormonal** head.
What I'm Working On: The nursery, the nursery, the nursery! Like I said, we are thiiiiiiis close to being completely done with it and I am looking forward to officially being able to check that off my list.
What I'm Excited About: Lily Grace will be starting "school" in September! We had been on the waitlist at our top choice school since February and finally heard this summer that a spot opened up-- yay!!
I ordered her backpack, lunchbox, and bento box and have started prepping lists of easy, guaranteed lunches for her. I ordered her backpack and lunchbox from LL Bean because I have purchased so many bags from there over the years (backpacks, tote bags, you name it!) and they really do last forever! I still have a tote bag from high school that it in excellent shape and I use it all the time. I was very nostalgic ordering her bag because my sisters and I used to peruse the LL Bean catalog every summer and pick out our backpacks (we usually only got to order a new one every other year since they hold up so well, but we liked to look anyway). It brought back some fun memories and was crazy to think that now my daughter gets to have her own LL Bean backpack!
What I'm Watching/Reading: The Bachelorette!
I know the season finale was this week but I am just catching up this morning. I have to say, I was not looking forward to Hannah as the Bachelorette, and I've had a lot of mixed feelings about her throughout this season... but regardless of my feelings on her, this season was definitely entertaining!
What I'm Listening To: Audiobooks while I get things done around the house! Right now I am listening to Ghosted and I am hooked!
What I'm Wearing: I bought this dress in both blue and green on Amazon and have been living in them. It is not technically maternity, but I bought up a size and it seems to fit perfectly. I know I will be able to wear this post-baby too, and it was so cheap!
A loose, flowy maxi dress is right up my alley about now!
What I'm Doing This Weekend: My parents have been in Europe for the past 3 weeks and come home Thursday night, so I will be spending my weekend catching up with them I'm sure! I'm sure at some point we will get together with friends to catch up too since we missed out on seeing them all last weekend.
What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month: Back to school!  It feels weird to say that since I will only actually be in school for about 2-3 weeks before I go on maternity leave, but it'll be so good to see my coworker friends and the sweet families I love so much from my school.

I hope you all have had a wonderful month too!

    1. Oh my gosh, what an ending! I couldn't stand Jed and was hoping for either Tyler or Peter in the end. I wonder who will be the next Bachelor??

  2. Hopefully the transition will not be a big deal at all my boys all LOVED their big boy beds and transitioned from a crib to a twin bed literally in one day. With all their favorite stuffed animal and a cherished blanket they cuddled right up and went to sleep at nap time never even looking back at that crib. I hope it's a piece of cake for you!!

  4. I also loved LL Bean as a teenager. Good call on ordering that for your daughter, I've been ordering Herschel bags for my son but LL Bean would probably be a better option. Can't wait to see pictures of the nursery all set up!
