Dining Nook Area Before and After

Hi there! I hope you've had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend ahead. Devin's parents are in town (yay!) and we are planning to have some low key fun with them over the next few days. Our local children's museums opened back up and are running on reservations only, so we have reservations at two different museums this weekend! I actually really love the idea of reservations in order to keep numbers down. When we have been in the past the museums can get so crowded they aren't really enjoyable. We definitely won't have to worry about that now!

Today I want to share another room of our house since we've renovated. This one is quick, just the dining nook off our kitchen. This is where we eat a majority of our meals when it's just the 4 of us, but when we have guests over for dinner we eat at our bigger table downstairs.

We have a 4th chair to match the others, but since Liam is still in his highchair we have the highchair pulled up to the table. 😊

Just in case you can't remember what it looked like beforehand, here's a shot from back in August:

Just a little bit different, huh? If you want to see our kitchen before and after click here.

For the table up here we knew we needed a round table, and wanted one with a leaf. We originally wanted this one from Pottery Barn but then stumbled across one on Facebook Marketplace that also had a leaf and looked very similar.. so we went with that one!

Our chairs are from IKEA, super simple and easy to put together. The pendant light is from World Market. We wanted something that would match the lights in our kitchen without being too matchy-matchy. I really like how they turned out!

The mirror above the buffet/sideboard is old from Kirklands, but they have a similar mirror here if you're interested. Also, see that weird thing hiding under the sideboard? That's our Roomba, AKA Liam's newest obsession. He loves to chase it around the house and watch it vacuum 😂 We keep the charging station under the sideboard so it's out of the way but still has access to everything.

Hands down one of my favorite things in this room is the fiddle leaf fig. I was so nervous it wouldn't take to this room, but apparently it gets just the right amount of light (thank goodness!!). The basket for fig tree is from HomeGoods but I found a somewhat similar one here.

Our succulents are actually from Costco but there are a bunch of really cute ones on Amazon. I linked a similar set here. The art on the left side is actually something Lily Grace made in art class at school.

I LOVED it and knew we needed to keep it out. I had a little stand already (I think from Pier 1?)

As for the sideboard, we actually stumbled across it at an antique store over Christmas and I fell in love with it. I felt it matched the vibe we were going for perfectly! I don't have a link for it, but this one and this one were kinda similar if you're curious.

Anyway, that's our new dining nook! Thanks for reading along today!

I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites.

  2. I love your plants and the little painting, how sweet.
I agree about reservations, I know it's not a good way to make money for these businesses, but I wish it was something we could keep. I hate being crowded at the museum, aquarium, zoo, etc.

    1. Same! It has been nice to be able to go places and actually enjoy them rather than wait in line.
