Friday Favorites

Hi there! I hope you all had a good week! As you read this we are getting ready to drive to Charleston, SC for the Cooper River Bridge Run 10k-- I am so excited!  Here's hoping you have a fun weekend ahead of you too!

Let's have a look at the highlights of our week:

Favorite Moments

One of my best friends Kathleen, who lives in Chicago, came to Charlotte for a visit this week and I got to meet her sweet baby! I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with her as I would've liked but luckily Hannah and I have a trip to Chicago planned for this November (woohoo!). That girls weekend away cannot get here soon enough!!

Remember how I told you last week I pulled the skeleton out of the attic to try to scare Devin? Well, still no luck with scaring him... but Lily Grace has apparently adopted him as her new favorite toy. Here she is doing yoga during her afternoon quiet time, with the Skeleton joining in behind her.

Then reading him a bedtime story.

This girl cracks me up. I feel like most kids this age would be scared of the skeleton, but LG loves it. What a little goofball!

Speaking of goofball... this little one has recently developed a habit of breaking into the fridge/freezer and taking out food. On Wednesday I was in the process of making his lunch, I was almost done, and while my back was turned he got into the freezer, opened up a corn dog box and took a bite out of a frozen corn dog. 🙈

I couldn't help but laugh-- he was so dang sneaky about it!

I posted something about it on Instagram and was cracking up at how many people told me you can buy locks for your fridge/freezer. Apparently Liam is not the only one trying to sneak snacks before meal time. 😂

On Thursday some of my mom friends and I grabbed an early lunch before picking up our kids from preschool. The weather was in the 60's and I was so excited to wear a sweater out of the house without fear of sweating buckets. No pictures from the brunch but I got to wear my new tunic for the first time without being too hot:

Favorite Things

We pulled a few of our Halloween decorations out this week and this is my favorite of all our Halloween decorations:

It's a candle holder that looks like a haunted house.

At night when I turn the lights off and it's dark the little house looks like it's glowing. It's so cute and makes me so happy! This one is several years old so you can't buy it at Bath & Body Works anymore, but I found one on eBay if you're interested!

Favorite Food

After listening to Shay and Erika's podcast on Tuesday, I was inspired to go home and throw something in the crock pot. I made veggie chili and it was soooo good.

Tomatoes, carrots, onions, black beans, kidney beans, corn.... it was so hearty and filling and delicious. I am happy it's crockpot season!

One day while Lily Grace was in school and Liam and I were out running errands, we saw this Halloween funfetti and thought it looked like fun:

So our post-nap activity was to bake spooky cupcakes. Both kids loved baking them and obviously loved eating them too :)

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. Have a great weekend!

  1. i Love your skeleton. he sounds like fun. my parents use to have a lock on their fridge because Ella would open it, grab something to eat and sit on the bottom of the fridge.

  2. We tried the Funfetti brownies that they had out last year. I had never thought to put icing on brownies, but man were they good!

  3. I am cracking up over the skeleton photos! I am pretty sure I would have been terrified when I was younger; I was a big chicken about anything scary/Halloween/spooky.

    1. It's out of a cookbook, Plant Over Processed, and then I added a few extra things to it.
