Good morning! It hit me the other morning that I have not done an updated post about how I am trying to stay healthy throughout this pregnancy. I am now 32 weeks pregnant and this baby will be here before we know it!
I am doing my best to try to stay fit and healthy because I want to be able to keep up with Lily Grace for as long as I can (although I have to admit, I'm starting to slow down significantly).
I had written a post about my 2nd trimester exercise regimen here, and my 3rd trimester routine has changed quite a bit. This is a more current version of what workouts I'm doing:
Now sometimes life gets in the way and I don't get to do all of these workouts each week, but I do the best I can to start off the week right and squeeze in as many as possible. Sometimes I am so out of breath that a 30 minute walk might mean only a little over a mile, and that's okay! As long as I'm giving it my best shot, I'm not too worried about it.
While pregnant I tend to gain a lot of weight in my thighs/hips so I am trying to keep up with light strength training in those regions in order to keep those muscles as strong as possible. I know the fat gain is inevitable in those regions, but my plan is to keep the muscle tone there so that when the fat eventually melts away, it will be toned underneath.
Sometimes I still use Kayla's pregnancy modifications for BBG, but I also have turned to Pinterest for some more targeted workouts. These are the ones I have been following:
Soon enough this baby will be here! I am REALLY looking forward to the day that I can start running again-- I miss it like crazy! I miss yoga a lot too and can't wait to be able to go to my favorite classes at my studio again. But in the meantime, I am enjoying all of these baby kicks because I know this little window of time when I'm pregnant is so short. I have the rest of my life to run and do yoga, I want to be able to soak up all the sweetness pregnancy brings while I can!
