Friday Favorites-- Life Lately

Good morning! I hope you all have some nice plans for the weekend. I am off to Blowing Rock, NC for the last weekend of summer before school begins. I am looking forward to some family time, some cooler temps, and some relaxation!

Today I am linking up with Erika for Friday Favorites. This week's FF is a random hodgepodge of things that have been going on around here lately.

Dress/Shoes/Necklace (old, but similar here)
This week was the first week back at school for teachers. I know for most teachers back to school time can be bittersweet, but I honestly love my job, my coworkers, and the sweet families at our school so much that there is nothing bitter about going back... it's 100% sweet. I'm not used to dressing the bump for work anymore but luckily this dress seemed to work.
Hi there giant baby!
Prior to heading back to school, Lily Grace and I tried to soak up as much of the summer as we could by spending our days at the pool.
Speaking of going to school, Lily Grace starts her 2's preschool class at the beginning of next month, so I ordered a few "Back to School" teacher gifts for her teachers.

As a teacher, I think it's sweet when parents begin the year by letting the teacher know we are all on the same team and have the same goals: to help the child. By no means is a gift a required part of that, you could just as easily write a note to the teacher letting her know you are looking forward to a good year together. That being said I wanted to get each one a little something special to begin the year and a monogrammed insulated tumbler is one of my favorite gifts. I love how it keeps your water cold all day!
I was also able to squeeze in a little time at the nail salon this week before school starts back up and went with the gel version of Alpine Snow. I have Alpine Snow in the regular polish at home and LOVE it, but I love how the gel lasts for weeks and I don't have to worry about chipping.
Another random thought... if you haven't tried this S'mores bar yet from Trader Joe's, do yourself a favor and grab it! I'm not normally a huge marshmallow fan, but the combination of tiny marshmallows and graham cracker bits mixed in with the chocolate are soooo good. Don't bother looking at the nutrition info on the back... you don't wanna know. I promise it's worth it. 😉

And then finally... you all know how obsessed I am with my Happy Planner. I have written about it countless times and swear by it as my absolute favorite planner.
You can read about them here and here.

I knew they made teacher lesson planners, but for some reason have never bought one. Well the teachers started back at our school this week and one of my coworkers had the teacher version of the Happy Planner.

I started looking through hers and, of course, fell in love with it. They are on sale at Michael's right now but our Michael's was pretty picked over. I got the box kit that comes with the planner, stickers, a bookmark to mark your page, some Washi tape, and a few other little goodies. If you are a teacher and are looking for a planner, I highly recommend this one!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy these last few days of summer!

  1. Good luck going back to school (for a short time). I am not a teacher but I do have fond memories of fresh school supplies and new clothes. I get to live vicariously through my children now :)
