How Are You Doing?

Hi all. It feels like a full year has gone by since we last "chatted", yet it's only been a few days. I'm not sure what life looks like in your neck of the woods right now, but things are definitely crazy here. All schools have been cancelled, many businesses are working from home, stores are closing... it's nuts. It's easy to get anxious and worry about everything going on/all the changes, but we are trying to do our best to stay sane over here and keep life "as normal as possible".

So, how are YOU holding up? How are things in YOUR area? And what are you doing to try to find a positive in a crappy situation?

Devin and I both are off work for the next two weeks, then both of our jobs are going to re-evaluate whether or not it is safe to return. Lily Grace's school and most of her activities have been cancelled for the same amount of time the schools are closed. So we are under somewhat of a house arrest for the next two weeks.

Our plan is to spend as much time outside as possible: a lot of walks, nature hikes, tree climbing, chalk on the driveway, etc. Thank God the weather is beautiful (for the most part) and the mosquitos aren't out yet!

We also have a list of house projects we've been meaning to get to for ages but haven't had the time for... well guess what? Now we have ALL THE TIME to be at home doing projects. We've already power washed our back patios, planted our planters, done some touch up painting and touch up staining our back fence. Hopefully we can knock out several more of these projects while we're home over the next two weeks.

Please share with me what ya'll are doing in order to stay sane at your house! Or maybe your area hasn't been as affected as ours and life is still relatively "normal" for you? Either way, I'd love to know.

Stay healthy everyone! And if you haven't seen this yet, maybe it will bring a smile to your face:

  1. Prayer is definitely a better alternative than anxiety--which seems to be our default in times of upheaval. This morning I asked God to show me what he wants me to learn from this season.

    1. That's such a great idea Michele. I have a feeling we will all be learning from this difficult time. At the very least, maybe we will get a chance to have some quality time with family and find new ways to connect with one another.

  2. It's going to be difficult to be stuck home for so long...I'm usually at home but my kids usually are not!

    1. It'll be an adjustment period for sure!! While I'm used to being home with the kids on the days I don't work, I am NOT used to being around Devin 24/7. Let's hope we don't kill each other :)
