Good morning and happy Friday! We are in our final days of our beach trip and it is bittersweet. We are having so much fun here together, but at the same time, I know we have things we need to get back home to as well. Two weeks is a long time to be away! Today I am sharing "A Day in the Life of Us at the Beach", so settle in, grab your coffee, and come spend the day with us in Hilton Head, SC. 😉 We are here with my parents and my younger sister, but they claimed they were "sweaty and gross in those pictures, don't post us". So just so you know, the gang was all here.. but it was hot as heck and they didn't want sweaty pictures on the internet. I can't say I blame them. 😊
Time to start the day! I don't set an alarm on vacation, so I sleep in a little bit longer than on a normal day at home. On this day I woke up at 5:54, ready to seize the day.
I went out to the kitchen, started brewing the coffee, and did a few more pieces of the puzzle we had started the night before. It's a 1000 piece puzzle of Hawaii, which sounds intimidating at 1000 pieces, but actually was easy because there was a lot going on in the picture. It was easy to pick one small part to focus on, then move out from there. Puzzle is linked here if you're interested.I was going for a run that morning, so I checked the weather before putting on my running clothes.
6:47 am and it already feels like 89 degrees? Gross. Humidity is 87%? Double gross. I had planned to run 3 miles but figured I'd just do the best I could on my run and call it a day. I'm running a half marathon in November so I have plenty of time to train for it, I don't need to be out there running for speed when it's already that hot and humid.
It may have been sticky out, but it was also beautiful! I love to run on the beach when possible and in my opinion, sunrise is the best time to do it. 😊
Only 2.5, but good enough for vacation when it's that gross out!
Run done! Time for the rest of the day to begin.
Showered, swimsuit on, sunscreen on.. ready to go!The kids wanted to start the day at the pool, so we did a few hours of pool time before having lunch at the little beachside restaurant at the resort. Devin and I split a grilled chicken salad
and the kids had cheeseburgers before splitting a Pina colada...
Then we headed to the beach for a few hours.
Liam is still taking a nap most days, so I brought him back up to our room to nap while I read my book on the porch.
The storm was over around 3:30, so we rode bikes for bit.
Isn't Lily Grace's tag-along bike fun? She loved it and was actually pretty helpful with the pedaling! I could feel her pedaling enough to make us go faster. Then Devin had a work call, so I took the kids to the playground for a bit.
Any day at the beach is a great day. I enjoyed following along.
