Friday Favorites-- Halloween Edition

Good morning friends and happy Friday! We are all excited about Halloween around here and have been doing everything we can to get in the festive spirit. This week we made our annual homemade Halloween cards to send out to friends and family.

Liam's handprints made spiders on the front of the cards while Lily Grace's handprints made bats for the inside. She also decorated the inside with some Halloween stickers.
We haven't gotten around to decorating our house yet (I'm pulling the "I just had a baby" card... how long do I get to use that by the way? 😉). Just because we haven't gotten around to doing our house yet though doesn't mean we haven't been loving seeing our neighbors' decorations. Here are a couple of our favorite houses from our neighborhood:
We LOVE these bats and keep seeing them everywhere! Does anyone have these? Are they easy to set up? I know we just aren't going to get around to decorating this year, but I was thinking about scooping up a pack of these bats maybe for next year?
We also love these spiders climbing up the columns!
It's kind of hard to see, but this family has a big web spread out between their trees and a giant spider on that rock. This is my personal favorite in the neighborhood!
Lily Grace is very into the big inflatable decorations. She loves this ghost with the witches hat...
And of course this inflatable black cat. He shakes his head back and forth which LG just loves to watch...
And then of course she loves the fire breathing dragon and the Mickey Mouse inflatables. Inflatable decorations seem so easy, I see why people buy them!

And now for our costume! Lily Grace wanted to be a mermaid this year so I started with her costume and then did a whole family theme based around hers. My plan is to TRY to make her costume, and if I run out of time/it doesn't work I can always Amazon Prime something the week of. #thankGodforAmazonPrime

My inspiration for her costume is a cross between these two that I found on Pinterest:

Then Liam will be a baby shark:
I plan to be a lifeguard:
with some red shorts (and leggings underneath since it'll be cold!)
And then Devin is still trying to figure out his costume, but we already have a lot of scuba diving/snorkeling gear so my guess is he will probably end up doing one of those.

Fun fact: Devin has his scuba diving certification and his family used to pick their summer vacations based on places that were known for good scuba diving. Personally, I'm terrified of what I would see down there so that sounds like my worst nightmare. Devin talks about one of his favorite dives where they saw sharks, and I can only imagine how I would've reacted to that. Let's just say I most definitely would not have kept composed...

I hope you all have a great weekend! See you back here Monday!

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. Have a great weekend!!

  1. Lots of cute things! A few years ago I cut out a bunch of those bats. I saw them one time in a magazine and wanted to duplicate the look. I wonder what happened to them now that I think of it....

  2. That is such a cute family outfit idea! I don't mind snorkeling in a small bay with little fish but I would not to see something bigger then me while I am out in the ocean.. I don't like to think of anything in that water with me (which is probably why you'll only find me swimming in pools!).

    1. I am exactly the same!! Snorkeling in shallow water is great, but I have no desire to go deeper.
