Life Lately

Good Morning Friends! I hope you all had a nice weekend. I heard the following quote over the weekend on Rachel and Dave Hollis' podcast Rise Together:
We are all in a rush to get back to normal life, but I'm trying to soak up the good parts of what we have right now. Here are a few pictures of some of the fun we've been having around here:

We've been spending as much time as possible in our backyard, out in the sunshine. Our patio is almost finished and I can't wait to share pictures with you all! This little guy drives around the patio in his "car" while our big girl either decorates it with chalk, or is doing countless puzzles.
We are trying to go on as many walks around the neighborhood as possible.
One day last week I was on a Zoom meeting for school while Devin was watching Lily Grace (Liam was napping). I heard my phone buzz and looked down to see this picture:

And immediately responded "THAT'S TOO HIGH GET HER DOWN!!!!!". On the other hand though, she is becoming quite the tree climbing expert! I'm happy she has found another way to get all her energy out.
One day last week we had "pajama day" for fun. We stayed in our jammies all day 😀
We've been trying to order as much takeout as possible from some of our favorite local restaurants. The bento box above was from one of our favorite sushi places and this was the "kids bento box". It had California roll, edamame, orange slices, and "dessert sushi". The dessert sushi was a Rice Krispie treat with a Swedish fish on top. I thought it was too cute!
Needless to say, Lily Grace ate it right up!
And while our garden isn't even close to being "finished", I wanted to put up one of our pictures of our garden beds since we've been spending a lot of time in our garden too. Lily Grace has a kid sized watering can and helps us to water our plants every day.

Today is the first day of Rachel Hollis' Next 90 Days Challenge. If you don't follow her, this is an opportunity to try to use the next 90 days to set positive goals instead of negative ones. To try to get (or keep) ourselves on track for taking care of ourselves during this crazy time. She sums it up pretty well here:
I definitely already find myself eating more, drinking more and moving less. I am noticing I feel sluggish and want to kick the bad habits and get back onto the good habits! If you're interested in joining and want this tracker above, I found it here (I did not create this, just stumbled across it!).

I hope you all have a great week!! See you back here Wednesday for a book review!

  1. I am looking for the blessings in all of this too! And honestly, there are many! Don't get me wrong, it is hard (my hubby works as a nurse and paramedic) but we can always find good!

  2. We made Rice Krispies treat sushi one time for a geography fair; my son studied Japan and didn't want to bring real sushi in. It was a huge hit with all the kids.
