Monthly Goals-- August 2020

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a good week! Today is the last day of July and I wanted to share a peek at what goals I'm setting for myself for the month of August.

1. 3 Minute Plank Challenge-- So a blogger/influencer that I follow, Britnee Kent, has been doing a plank challenge on her instagram and I am planning to join up for the month of August. You do one plank in the middle (a traditional plank) and one on each side for 60 seconds each, bringing it to 3 minutes total. I did it consistently for about a week while we were at the beach and actually started noticing results! I am curious to see the before/after from doing it for a whole month!
2. Read 3 Books-- I wasn't so great about reading in July and was only able to finish 2 books (both were great by the way-- can't wait to tell you about them!). This month I am hoping to get back into some audiobooks because I need something to listen to on my runs and walks. Normally I use that time to pray, but as I begin running for longer distances, I'll need something to fill the time after I pray... enter audiobooks!
3. Get Up to 7-8 Miles Running-- I was doing well increasing my distance while running in June, but then we were traveling so much in July and I didn't continue to increase my distances. I'm starting August running 5 miles as my current max and am hoping to get to at least 7-8 by the end of the month. This shouldn't be too hard, so I'm hoping I can achieve this one!
4. Keep Up With DSLR-- I was pretty good about pulling my DSLR camera out and using it last month and I want to keep up the momentum and keep learning! The more I use it, the more comfortable I become with it, and the more "fun" it is. It's a good cycle and I want to keep it going in the right direction!

Do you set goals for yourself each month?? If so, tell me one goal you set for yourself for this month. I'd love to know!

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. Have a great weekend šŸ˜€

  1. You just reminded me that I have used my DSLR in over a month! I need to pull it out more because you are right-- the more I use it the more comfortable I am with it.

    1. It's just so much easier to use a phone camera-- but I never regret pulling the DSLR out!

  2. I've been taking way less pictures lately! I need to fix that too.

    1. It's hard with quarantine and our lives looking a little like Groundhog Day... my pictures look a lot the same! Hah!

  3. They are great goals! Apparently the Duchess of C is a huge planking fan - am trying to do them too, but do the kind on the forearms and elbows instead, and a side plank - they really do work! I have to ask, what is a DSLR? I live in the back of beyond so need 'educating' in modern life, seriously!

    1. Ooh I didn't know that about Kate, that's even more motivation to do the planks! A DSLR is specific type of camera :) Mine is a Nikon D3300
