Let's Look-- How We "Pumpkin"

Good morning friends! Today we are sharing how we "pumpkin" which I took to be an open invitation to write about how we celebrate fall in our homes. Luckily, despite everything going on, this year hasn't been too different from years past. We still got to go to a pumpkin patch, it was just a different one than usual and we had to make a reservation. We are still planning to trick or treat (our neighborhood has okay-ed it!) but there will be some different rules/regulations involved. If there's anything I've learned this year, it is to be grateful for the things we do have and not the things we are missing out on! Here's a look at what we've been doing to celebrate fall in our home!

Last week we got to go to the pumpkin patch at a local farm and the kids had a BLAST! The farm did a great job of keeping their visitor numbers even and consistent throughout the week by having all families make a reservation. Normally the farm would be CRAZY packed, but there were only a few dozen people spread out over acres and acres of farmland.

The kids got to see some pigs, chickens, and goats. They were a hit! Liam kept mimicking all the animal noises 😂.

Then we went to the corn maze. We were the only people in it!

Please note the length of Liam's pants 😂 He is in this awkward phase of clothes either being too big or too small. Those are 18 month pants and while they are too short, his 2t pants are too big in the waist so they fall down. It's a tough phase to dress him!!

Our big girl went to go pick out some pumpkins. See how there's nobody there?? Devin and I kept saying how nice it was that it wasn't crowded like every other year. We enjoyed it so much more!

More pumpkin picking for LG while Liam sat in the wagon and enjoyed watching

Then we went on the wagon ride around the farm, masks were required for adults during this part since we were around other people. The kids loved it and Liam kept babbling to the farmer who was driving. We kept joking that Liam was being a backseat driver 😂.W

We were so happy that Devin got to do this with us on a weekday morning. Devin is still working from home and since his job is in international business, his company has been great about letting him enjoy some family time during traditional work hours (his coworkers in Asia and Europe aren't in the office during traditional hours in the US, so he may be up at 10 pm on a conference call, but gets to spend chunks of his days with us!).

Other than the pumpkin patch, we decorated our temporary home. Most of our decorations are in the attic at our house, but since it is under renovation we haven't gone back to get them. We just put up some basic spider webs and spiders and put our pumpkins out front. We were screaming here because our house was so spooky 😉

And then we have had a couple mornings where the traffic on the way to LG's preschool in the morning hasn't been bad and we've arrived SUPER early. We have been grabbing a piece of pumpkin bread at Starbucks and then driving around to look at Halloween decorations. There hadn't been a whole lot of decorations out, but the neighbors have finally started getting them up this week. We loved this inflatable pirate ship!

Thanks for reading along today! I can't wait to see how you and your families are celebrating the season!
