Hello hello! I know I have been sharing recipes less frequently, but to be honest as we navigate this whole plant-based thing, I've been following other people's recipes more often than not. Today however, I have a quick healthy side item we've been whipping up pretty frequently. Bonus: it's kid approved!
Nutritional yeast is not a commonly used ingredient, and not one I had heard of until a few months ago. It is a type of yeast that contains protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It has a subtle cheesy flavor that makes it a delicious and nutritious way to add flavor to food. You can find it in the baking aisle at most grocery stores.
Here's What You'll Need:
- 2 cups fresh green beans
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more/less depending on your tolerance for spicy or if kids are eating it)
- 1/2 tablespoon nutritional yeast
- salt and pepper to taste
1. In a large mixing bowl, drizzle green beans with olive oil. Add seasonings and give a good mix. It should look like this before frying:
2. Set air fryer to 375 degrees and fry green beans for 10-15 minutes, stopping to shake basket.
3. Let cool and enjoy!
Gosh I love the air fryer. Everything is so much easier with it! If you make this recipe, please let me know! I'd be happy to hear what you think!
I can’t wait to try these!
