Good morning and happy Monday! Today I am recapping our busy but fun-filled weekend as I link up with Heather for Hello Monday. I hope you all have a great Monday and get your week off to a strong start!
On Friday I subbed for a 4th grade class at my old school while Devin worked from home and watched the kids. When I came home from work they were playing with their construction worker dress up clothes. Both of these kids love to play dress up, and the construction outfits are a big hit these days!
Also, please note Lily Grace's ridiculous outfit underneath the construction clothes. She's been very into picking out her own outfits lately so our rule is "on the days you go to school or church, mommy picks. On the other days, you can pick." This was a "you can pick" day. 😊
Liam with his safety goggles and hammer, ready to build!
Lily Grace's reading has really taken off lately and she loves to read to Liam. Here, Liam was trying to read the book to her. He loves to do anything she does!
On Saturday afternoon we had our fall family pictures. I can't wait to get them back!! The kids were energetic but overall kept it together pretty well. After we were finished, they just ran around the empty field like a couple of crazy kids and then collapsed. They just had to get their energy out!
Saturday night we set up the screen and the projector outside to watch the Ohio State- Indiana game and it was perfect! The temperature was in the low 60's so we snuggled up, popped some popcorn, and had a couple of beers while we watched the game.
On Sunday morning we had reservations to go to the pumpkin patch with friends. Somebody was a liiiiiittle wound up with excitement about the pumpkin patch so we turned on Cosmic Kids Yoga which worked like a charm. Thank you so much to Alisha, Caroline and everyone else who recommended Cosmic Kids Yoga-- we love it!!
It was supposed to be a crisp fall morning at the pumpkin patch so we were all wearing multiple layers. I went with my t shirt dress, boots, and denim jacket. The farm that we go to for the pumpkin patch is one of our favorite places. There is a petting zoo, two mazes, a little train ride, a hay ride, slushies for the kids, and a giant playground area. Here was Liam riding the train with one of his friends:
While LG rode on the zip line:
And then the horse swing:
Here we have some of the group getting ready to do a maze:
And then one of all of us at the end:
I love this group of friends so much. It's crazy to think that most of us have been friends for 15+ years! We've been through college together, each other's weddings, and now babies. I am grateful to have such a solid group of people to do life with.
We headed home for lunch and nap time, then LG came with me to run some errands.
It was a busy weekend, but a lot of fun! The kids crashed by 7 pm and let's be honest here.. the adults aren't too far behind. 😉 I hope you all had a nice weekend too!
Glad she likes the Cosmic Kids! I'm stealing your rule about picking out clothes because we are having that same problem here. No, you can't wear a tank top when it's 57 in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI thought LG's clothes choice was spot on! hahaha
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend! Thanks for sharing.
What a fun weekend! We used to let our boys pick out their own clothes too as long as we weren't going anywhere "fancy" and the only rule was that they had to be appropriate for the weather. I love seeing kids wearing their own creative outfits when we're out shopping!
ReplyDeleteI love LG in the construction outfit! The pumpkin patch photos are so fun and sweet. I took my two big kids last Friday! I love that tradition
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend!!
