What's Up Wednesday

Happy What's Up Wednesday!
Before we start I wanted to let you know that the dates are up for the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale! This year it will begin Monday September 10th at 8:00 am through Wednesday September 12th at midnight. I made my list of what I'm hoping to buy, have you??

Okay, back to WUW... Today I am answering the following questions:

wuwquestions-edit

What We're Eating This Week- This week is all about the slow cooker! We have had chicken tacos and BBQ in the slow cooker so far this week, and plan to have some leftovers later on. We need easy peasey for Back to School!

What I'm Reminiscing About- This past weekend we were at a birthday party for one of Lily Grace's friends. At the party they had one of those cars you can push and Lily Grace was pushing the birthday girl around the backyard in it saying "vroom vroom". It was cracking us all up :)

Lil knows to say "cheeeeeese" now when we take her picture and it is one of my new favorite things. Its so dang cute to hear her sweet little voice say it!

What I'm Loving- My new school schedule! Last year I had 11 classes to teach in 2 days and it was way too much to cram into two days. This year I have 12 classes (yay for increased enrollment!) but I get to spread them out over 2.5 days. Not only do I get more time in between for planning/set up, but I get paid more too since I'm there longer. Its a win/win!

What I've Been Up To- School, school, and more school. We had the Back to School picnic over the weekend and Lily Grace was able to go play with some of the other teachers' kids/grandkids. She had a blast!

What I'm Dreading- Nothing at the moment, thank God!

What I've Been Working On- We are headed to Amsterdam later this fall and I am SO excited to be planning our itinerary. I've been pinning all things Amsterdam on Pinterest and watching every Rick Steves' Europe video I can find in the Netherlands. We are also planning to make a day trip to Bruges, Belgium if it isn't too much of a hassle to get there. Has anyone been to Bruges? My parents just went over the summer and highly recommended it. I'm so excited!
List of many cool museums in Amsterdam, including The Amsterdam Museum, the Rijksmuseum, the Anne Frank House, The Van Gogh Museum, and The Biblical Museum.

What I'm Excited About- See above :) And a picture of Bruges below:
Bruges, Belgium

What I'm Watching- Rick Steves Europe as we plan our trip but we also just watched this super fascinating documentary on Netflix called Fishpeople (I know it sounds weird, stay with me here...). It followed the lives of 6 people whose lives all interact with the ocean in a fascinating way. There was one woman from Hawaii who was a deep diving fisherwoman who could dive to incredibly deep depths on one single breath and then spearfish. There was another woman who swam from Alaska to Russia, swam the English Channel, swam from the North island of New Zealand to the South island, etc. It was actually really cool.

What I'm Listening To- I have been listening to some praise music playlists on Spotify in the morning while getting ready for work. It's such a peaceful, happy way to start the day. I also started a new Podcast called The Daily and I am obsessed! It's made by the New York Times and gives a quick 25ish minute explanation of something going on in the news. I am hooked!

What I'm Wearing- Since I've been back at work I'm basically living in J. Crew Factory. Here are a few of my outfits:
My white shirt is here, my navy pants are here, my necklace is super old and I couldn't find it online, but you can find it in blue and yellow here for only $10. Same thing with my wedges, they're old but I found these similar ones on Amazon and they're super cheap. Make sure you click on beige patent.

This is that same scalloped shell from earlier but in a pattern instead of white. Here are the white pants, and similar shoes are here
Here are the same blue pants from above and the blue tie neck top I wore for family pictures in Hilton Head

What I'm Doing This Weekend- This weekend we are headed to Wilmington to visit some friends and I cannot wait! There will be a lot of beach time with friends and since Dev's parents live in Wilmington we will get to see them too. Can't wait!

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month- Football season starting! One of my favorite things to do in the fall is go to the mountains with my parents and watch football games with my dad. We go hike in the morning and soak in the beautiful fall weather and then spend our afternoons watching college football games together. Devin loves watching football and chilling all weekend too and my parents love getting to spend more time with Lily Grace. It's one of our favorite times of the year!

What about you?? What are you up to lately? Comment below with a link to your blog-- I'd love to check out your "What's Up Wednesday". Have a great rest of the week :)
