What's Up Wednesday

Happy Halloween and Happy What's Up Wednesday!! This is always one of my favorite posts of the month. I love reading to see what all of you are up to and sharing our updates too :) Just like last month I don't have a legit answer for every question, so I only answered the ones that were fitting :)

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

What We're Eating--  This Saturday is our half marathon so this week we will be trying to eat as healthy as possible and consider what food we "fuel" our bodies with for the race. We will be drinking LOTS of water to make sure we are hydrated. After Saturday's race... we are bringing out the crock pot! It is hygge season up in here and nothing feels more hygge to me than coming home to a house that smells delicious, throwing on some cozy socks, and eating a warm home cooked meal! This is one of our favorites.
What I'm Reminiscing About-- Last weekend we took a quick trip to Blowing Rock and took Lily Grace hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway trails. The weather was absolutely perfect and we had some great family time. I mean, how beautiful is that view??? You can see why they call them the Blue Ridge Mountains right?
What I'm Loving-- A couple weeks ago I was telling my girlfriends about this app called Drop (itunes store/Google Play). I have not paid for a Starbucks in over a year because of this app! If you shop at Trader Joe's, Target and Wal-Mart like I do, then it is definitely worth it for you to download. Once you reach a certain number of points, you can use your points to "buy" a gift card to many different stores, but I always go for Starbucks. If you use the code gec3k when you download it, you get a free $5 towards Starbucks (or other gift card of your choice) immediately! Without spending anything! If you download it, make sure to check your spam email folder for the verification email. One of my friends was upset that she didn't get her free points but she hadn't verified her email address yet. Once she did, it all worked out :)
What We've Been Up To-- Lily Grace made her Halloween cards to mail out to her friends. I love doing things like this with her so I can remember how tiny her little hand was at each stage.
What I'm Excited About-- Halloween with my favorite little cutie! I have loved getting to see this holiday through her eyes and seeing what excites her. This girly loves pumpkins, ghosts, witches and black cats! She is all into some Halloween decorations!
What I'm Reading-- I went to Montessori school for preschool and learned a little about Montessori while getting my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Ed, but wanted a quick refresher course on it. I vaguely remembered how this different style of learning was beneficial to many kids under the age of 6 and thought I'd look more into it. This book has been very interesting and I would definitely recommend it to anyone else who wants to learn more about Montessori.
What I'm Wearing-- We went to my fave store J. Crew Factory when we were in Blowing Rock and I bought several outfits.

I love this cape so much because it has holes for your arms rather than just draping it over your shoulders. Not to mention how soft and cozy it is!

My favorite are the high waist jeans, which my sisters always tease me about SNL's "Mom Jeans" skit. But look, those jeans keep everything all tucked in so I swear by them!!

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month-- Our last big trip of the year is next month and I am sooooooo flipping excited! We are headed to BALI!!! We are in the midst of planning our itinerary now, but as we get closer I will share more details.

Hope you all have a great week and a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

  3. I've been meaning to make a trip to Blowing Rock. It'd be a great day trip for us. And I've been wanting one of those oversized scarf capes. I think I'm going to treat myself to one this year for my birthday.
