Valentine's Day Card Ideas

Good morning friends and happy hump day! This week has been flying by and I am really looking forward to this weekend because I have a GIRLS TRIP TO FLORIDA!! As I'm typing this, the weather is 25 degrees in Charlotte... so needless to say I am very excited for the warmer weather in my near future!

Today though I want to talk about our annual Valentine's Day cards. Each year Lily Grace makes a homemade Valentine's Day card to send to family and friends (we will do the ones she passes out at school this year too, but those are different). I have been perusing Pinterest and have hit up Michael's to get some good ideas for our cards. Here's a look at some of the ideas I have found on Pinterest so far:

I will probably end up doing some combination of a few of them... maybe the handprint/footprint ones and then letting LG decorate the card with stickers/feathers/paint dots like the other ones?

The plan is for us to begin making these a few at a time starting next week. LG loves to do art, but has the attention span of a typical 2 year old so we can only get 2-3 cards done per day. Once we have 6-8 of them done, I make a checklist of everyone we are going to send them to and check each name off as we mail them. Sending them out as we make them prevents me from having 20+ cards crowding my dining room table.

What do you do for Valentine's with your kiddos? I saw the cutest printables on Andrea's blog last week for class Valentine's and we will probably end up doing the Jasmine/Princess theme for the girls and maybe something pirate for the boys. Our girl is very into both princesses and pirates, so those themes will be right up her alley!

I hope you all have a great day! See you back here tomorrow for another healthy side item recipe, my favorite one yet!! 😀

  1. Such cute ideas... We've tried the footprint crafts several times and they always come out awful. Ella will NOT sit still :P May have to try something else this year... haha!

  2. The extent of my Valentine's card efforts is remembering to ask the kids what ones they would like to send before I pick them up at the drug store ;) Those ideas are so sweet.

  3. I love this idea. I hate store cards that cost so much then just go in the trash
