Rainy Day Quarantine Activity: Our Virtual "Trip" to Disney World

Good morning friends! Today I wanted to share a super simple yet fun activity we pulled out of our back pockets this week when it poured rain for 4 days in a row. Yes, 4 days in a row! With a baby and a toddler stuck inside on week 452 of quarantine-- yuck! Needless to say, we were starting to get desperate for some new indoor activities.

Luckily Devin had somehow stumbled across this "Virtual Disney World" Youtube page. We checked it out and it was all the rides at Disney World, but virtually (just like the name says šŸ˜‰). We knew our Disney World loving toddler would LOVE it! Remember when we went back in December? She is still talking about our trip (so much for the people who said "she won't remember it at that age"!!).

So in order to make it feel a little more "real", I emptied some of Liam's diaper boxes and covered them with brown paper to look like the boats/roller coaster cars you ride in at Disney. We dressed the kids up in their Disney outfits (Liam got that precious pirate hat at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride when we went in December!), hopped into our cars, and went on some rides!!
Liam in his adorable hat back in December.

Just like the real thing, right? šŸ˜‰

Just like in real life, I get really bad motion sickness, so I couldn't do some of the rides. For people with motion sickness I suggest rides like "It's a Small World" and not the roller coasters (just like you would probably avoid in real life).
This time around Liam was able to stay awake for the rides, unlike when we were really there šŸ˜€

I will say, we did this with the Youtube app on our Roku and it was okay, but then we hooked up Devin's laptop to the computer and we could actually "look around" while we rode the rides. It felt much more real. So if you're able to hook up to a computer, give it a shot!

This was a super fun, easy and free activity to keep us busy this week. If you're looking for something different, I suggest you try it out!

Today I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. Have a great weekend!

  1. So fun!!! The rain makes it so much harder. I remember at the beginning of our quarantine it felt like it rained for almost 2 weeks and I was ready to pull my hair out. The Disney days at home are taking the internet by storm, and we might have to get used to them because I don't know when actual Disney will open back up :(

    Have a great weekend!

  3. We had a virtual Disney vacation over Spring Break when we were suppose to be at Disney. The kids had so much fun. Glad you were able to amuse yourself on those rainy days. They are the worst.
