Farmer Devin's Greenhouse

Good morning friends and happy Friday! Today I am sharing something that we recently put in our backyard but have some really high hopes for this fall and next spring: our greenhouse.

As you all know, we are really into gardening and have been for years. We have grown zucchini and squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, blueberries, green beans, bell peppers, lemons, and lots of herbs. We LOVE our garden and love getting to share that passion with our kids too. Lily Grace loves to pick the veggies from our garden, wash them, and eat them. It's the easiest way to get her to eat a vegetable 😉.

Now our summer gardening season is coming to a close and we are planting some fall/winter vegetables to put into pots/planters in our greenhouse. We are also keeping our herbs in there throughout the winter too. For our fall/winter crops we have planted kale, broccoli and spinach. We have been gardening for years, but we are still learning! While we have read several books, articles, blog posts about gardening, most of what we have learned has been through trial and error. We like to learn through experience apparently. 😉

This greenhouse that we put up was actually SUPER easy. The hardest part was building the platform base for it to go on, which Devin just did with some lumber from Home Depot. As you can see from the pictures, the ground wasn't completely level where we wanted to put the greenhouse so a base was necessary.

We got the greenhouse from Home Depot (online) and were able to pop it up in just a few hours. If you can put together a piece of furniture from IKEA, you can put together this greenhouse!

The finished product! I will keep you updated on how our fall/winter crops turn out!

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. I hope you all have a WONDERFUL LONG WEEKEND!!
