What I've Been Wearing Lately

Hi there friends! I hope you had a nice weekend. We were able to get all moved out of our house and moved into our temporary home and are feeling settled. We had plans to have a small get together Sunday morning for Liam's birthday but on Friday night/Saturday morning Lily Grace was hit with a tummy bug. 😷 We didn't want to risk sharing our germs with all of Liam's baby friends and their siblings/parents so we decided to push it back a few weeks until everyone is feeling better.

This past month or so I have actually been getting out of the house and getting out of yoga pants/lounge clothes more and more. It helps that I have been subbing at my former school and we have had various meetings with our contractor/cabinet lady/appliance people etc. This means I have had to start putting together a few outfits again. I forgot how much I used to love getting dressed in "real clothes" in the morning! While I definitely love some good old jeans and a t-shirt, there is something about dressing up a little more that completely shifts my mindset.

Anywho, here are some of the outfits I have put together lately. I know sometimes looking at other people's outfits sparks my creativity and I think "oh, I have something similar, I'm going to try that today!" Hopefully I am able to make your mornings a little easier this week as you get dressed! 😊

Scalloped Skirt (old, but similar here)/ 3/4 sleeve Shirt (they don't have it in navy this year, but have white and black!)/ NecklaceLeopard Shoes

Cropped Blue Pants/ White T Shirt/ Lilly Scarf (old but similar here)

White Pants/ Peplum Tank (old, but similar here)/ Leopard Shoes

This was one of those days that was chilly in the morning but 85+ in the afternoon... so a good day for layers!
Now this pic is old-- but it's what I wore yesterday and forgot to take a picture! Striped Shirt/Jeans/Scarf

As you can see a lot of these pieces are older and no longer available, but there are a lot of similar options out there. I have been able to narrow down what my sense of style is and pick up a few pieces each year that still all go together. My style sense is pretty classic (basically if it's on the J Crew mannequin, I would wear it 😉) so these items don't go out of style easily. I feel better about spending more money on an item if I know I will be able to wear it for years to come.

So anyway, that's what I've been wearing around here! Have you started getting dressed more? Or are you still WFH and therefore Dressing For Home? I hope you all have a good week! Come back later this week for an empty house tour of our home pre-renovations!! I can't wait to be able to show you the "after" pictures too--- in about 4 months 😀. Have a great day!
