Good morning everyone! I had every intention of doing this post yesterday but then completely forgot to set a reminder to take pictures... and didn't remember until well into the day. Oops! So I figured I'd try again the following day :) Let's have a look at a day in the life of the Darrell Family, quarantine style. Here is April 8th, 2020:
I get the USA Today sent to my email every morning. I like to read the news once a day, then have Alexa brief me on anything new at night. I want to be informed, but not constantly consuming the news.
After reading the news and catching up on some of my favorite blogs, I finished my book The Other Woman. Have any of you read this?! I am dying for someone to talk to about it! I have such mixed feelings. Can't wait to tell you about it in the book review at the end of the month 😀
At 6:30 our little human alarm clock woke up. She is up at 6:30 every single day, no matter what. No matter how badly mom and dad want to sleep in 😀 Here she is reading some books.
And getting some snuggles with her (makeup free) mommy. She immediately wanted to go outside to play on her new swing set. Mind you this is like 7:15 a.m. Most people aren't even out of bed yet 😂
Then our little man woke up! He had a big ol' bottle of milk on the patio while his sister played.
Then we all went inside to have breakfast. We were almost completely out of food at this point, so Lily Grace had some yogurt with honey and a smoothie. Devin and I had smoothies. Liam had his baby oatmeal with pureed fruit mixed in.
Devin had some work calls beginning at 9:00, so I took the kids for a neighborhood stroll.
Then we came home and played in the backyard for a bit longer. Here LG has her princesses on the swings next to her. Cinderella is on the left, and Jasmine is on the right.
Devin came out after his calls and I went upstairs to have a snack and take a shower. As I said, we were almost completely out of food and one of the few things we had left was leftover cole slaw from dinner the other night. Is anyone else eating literally anything left in the fridge so you can put off going to the store a little longer? I don't normally do that but I am trying so hard to space out our grocery store visits.
I put on "real clothes" and headed to the grocery store while Devin watched the kids.
I keep this giant thing of Lysol wipes in my purse at all times now and take it with me to the grocery store. We don't have masks yet, but I know we need to go ahead and order some. Have ya'll gotten masks? Where did you get them?
When I got home it was lunchtime, so I made myself a sandwich and a turkey/cheese "rollup". The grocery store was completely out of bread except for the grommet bread in the bakery section, hence the tiny slices of bread. I actually didn't mind the tiny slices though, so maybe that's something I might buy again in the future??
Then, surprise surprise, more playing on the swing set after lunch!
After both kiddos went down for a nap, I came out to the patio to do some yoga. Notice all the chalk art around my yoga mat 😀
Then this handsome fella came out to join me while I did a little work on my computer. Luckily I didn't have any school work since we are currently on spring break, but normally I would've been checking work emails/doing Zooms/filming a few videos to send out to the kids.
Then it got a little too hot for us on the patio, so we moved inside to play.
The rest of the day was more playing in the backyard and since you've seen several pictures of that already, I figured I'd spare you from seeing even more 😀
Thanks for reading along today! See you back here tomorrow for Friday Favorites!
I loved seeing your day in the life. What a blessing to have sunny weather right now!
ReplyDeleteIt's so crazy but these days of social distancing always seem so peaceful. I totally understand putting off going to the grocery store!

And here I am reading the news just once a week! I don't really want to be all that informed. We haven't started wearing masks yet either but my husband has a bunch from his work that we'll use.
