What's Up Wednesday

Good morning all! I woke up this morning feeling a sense of hope because things around us are slowly starting to return to normal (not quite in NC yet, but in other places). I am so hopeful that these places are able to find a way to safely open and we can safely start to resume some of our regular activities. How are you all feeling??

Anyway, today is What's Up Wednesday and I feel like there might not be a whole lot to share, since we haven't been doing very much. This might be an abbreviated version 😀

What We're Eating This Week: We have been trying to eat some salads around here in order to offset all the takeout we've been getting. We've been frequenting our favorite bagel place, pizza place, Chinese restaurant and more. So when we aren't eating all that? Salads, salads and more salads! Including this one on repeat:

What I'm Reminiscing About: I have been reminiscing about several of our vacations lately. My hairdresser has been posting pictures from her travels (not current, obviously) and saying "Today in my mind, I'm in _____". I've been loving following along with her trips and have been reminiscing about several of ours too! Mostly our honeymoon in Hawaii:
and our trip to Bali in 2018:
Devin and I have been comparing the two places and telling each other what we liked more about each one. It has been a fun way to pass the time!
What I'm Loving: Our new swingset!

Several weeks ago I was at Costco buying our groceries and saw this swingset. At first I thought, "is it crazy to buy that?" but I am SOOOO glad we did! It has been the BEST way for our quarantined toddler to burn off some energy.
I am also loving our hammock that we finally got around to setting up in the backyard. We have been enjoying the nice weather as much as possible!
What We've Been Up To: I made a quick, 4 minute video of how we spent the first month of quarantine.
We've been trying to stay as busy as possible!
What I'm Working On: Distance learning lessons! For the most part I videotape myself teaching and then e-mail it to our principal. Our principal sends everything out first thing Monday morning and then the families can complete the work whenever is convenient for them. Then I Zoom with roughly 2 classes per week to check in and do another lesson.

When distance learning first started we were getting a lot of feedback from families that too many Zooms were stressful/hard on the families. Especially big families with multiple kids who were supposed to be Zooming while the parents were also on the computers with work. We found that emailing everything out Monday morning and giving the families a full week to finish has been easier on everyone.
What I'm Excited About: There is light at the end of the tunnel. I'm really hoping we are able to safely, albeit slowly, return to a somewhat normal life.
What I'm Watching/Reading: I actually haven't been watching anything, I've just been reading! I'm not much of a TV person anyway. Here are the books I read in the month of April:
I really liked them all and would recommend each one! You can click on the link above for more info about each book.
What I'm Wearing: I recently did a post about what I've been wearing for WFH. When I'm not wearing yoga pants, I've been wearing things like this:
This romper is from last year but Lilly has a bunch of cute ones out right now, including this one which kinda reminded me of the one I'm wearing.
Blue Dress/Lilly Scarf (old, but similar here)
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: Lily Grace is turning 3! We obviously aren't having a party, but I am still looking forward to celebrating our sweet girl.

Thanks for stopping by today! Can't wait to catch up with all of you too!
