Good morning friends! I hope you all had a nice weekend. We actually were able to get into our house and start moving some of the furniture back into the bedrooms this weekend. Our house isn't 100% finished, but the bedrooms were and it felt like such a relief to be able to start making our house a home again. Today I am sharing my Amazon finds for the month of January.
Vacuum Sealer-- My in laws got us a sous-vide for Christmas but we needed this vacuum sealer to go with it. Do any of you have a sous-vide? It's quickly becoming one of my favorite kitchen tools. For the sous-vide you need your meat sealed in an airtight bag (hence the vacuum sealer) and then you submerge it in hot water and cook. We grabbed this vacuum sealer because it had so many positive reviews on Amazon. So far so good with this, it's been easy to use and works like a charm. A lot of the other reviewers say they use this to freeze leftovers and it saves a lot of space in the freezer, which I hadn't though of!
"Okay to Wake" Clock-- My older sister Allie had been telling me to get an "Okay to Wake" clock for Lily Grace for years, literally years! Lil is an early riser and honestly I didn't mind because I'm always up too, but then she started getting up earlier and earlier (like 5:30 am) and was asking if it was time to get up yet. She doesn't have a clock in her room in order for me to teach her "when the clock says 6:30 you can get up" and when I typed in "kids alarm clock" into the search bar all these "okay to wake" clocks popped up. I figured since my sister had been talking about them for years I should probably just try it. WHY DIDN'T I LISTEN TO YOU SOONER ALLIE?!? This clock is AMAZING. When it's time to get up, her clock turns green. She knows she isn't allowed out of bed until her clock turns green. It is so simple, and it works like a charm. If she wakes up at 5:30 she stays in bed and has fallen back asleep every single time. If you're thinking about an "Okay to Wake" clock but haven't done it yet, I'm telling you-- please do it! It'll make your life so much easier!
The Negg Boiled Egg Peeler- Another item where we keep saying "why didn't we buy this sooner?!". We eat a lot of hard boiled eggs in our house-- both kids LOVE them, and so do we! I have always hated peeling the eggs though. It's such a pain, I hate when the eggs don't peel easily, and sometimes the little shards of shell prick my hand. I saw a woman buying the last one of these at Sur la Table and was asking her about it. An employee overhead us and told us it was one of her favorite things in the store. Since they didn't have any more in store, I took to Amazon. It actually was cheaper on Amazon anyway. Now I'll be honest, the first time we tried it I couldn't get it to work and thought I'd been duped. I went online to read reviews and everything said to watch the Youtube tutorial and make sure you boil the eggs for exactly 12 minutes, then put in an ice bath. This thing amazes me. The eggs truly slip right out of the shell. 100% worth it if you like hard boiled eggs!
Purlisse Radiant Glow BB Cream-- I have tried so many different foundations/BB/CC creams over the years and the Purlisse ones are still my favorites, hands down. I go back and forth between this one and the original depending on what kind of a mood I'm in. This one gives you that dewy, glowing look and I really like it. I also love that this makeup has an SPF 30 in it. I kind of took for granted and assumed most makeups had SPF nowadays but I was purging my makeup bag over the holidays and realized how many makeups actually don't have SPF. Anyway, if you're looking for a new BB cream I highly recommend this brand!
Living Proof Dry Shampoo-- I'll be honest with you, my wintertime quarantine hair is basically just a glob of dry shampoo 😆 I rarely see anyone, so why bother washing, drying and heat styling every day? This is my favorite dry shampoo and is definitely worth the higher price. It has over 6,000 reviews-- so clearly I'm not alone!
That's it for the month-- not too much! What was the last thing you bought on Amazon?
That clock sounds amazing! My little sister tends to get up around 5:30, probably because everyone else is awake by then, but she doesn’t need to get up until 6! I am seriously considering getting that clock! She needs a new one anyways! I love boiled eggs, but it kills me to have to peel the shells! That tool seems like a life-saver! Hope you have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteHaha I guess great minds think alike this month! The clock has changed our whole morning routine for the better. I can't say enough good things about it.
DeleteI'm very curious how the egg peeler works! The BB Cream sounds great too.
ReplyDeleteThe egg peeler has made my life so much easier! Totally worth the $15 in my opinion. We eat a lot of hard boiled eggs :)
DeleteThat clock looks so great!! My little brother is always up way earlier than he needs to be!! That egg-pepper looks amazing!! We love hard boiled eggs but HATE peeling them!! We might have to check that out!!
ReplyDelete*peeler...Ugh autocorrect!!
DeleteThat clock might make your brother's life easier then! And I highly recommend the egg peeler!
DeleteI live for living proof! If you don't already follow @thesisterstudioIG on insta, she has a highlight about using living proof! she talks about how dry shampoo should be used like a deodorant and be proactive on using it on clean day one hair and that has been LIFE CHANGING for me with living proof! I can easily go 4 days now! Also, the ok to wake is amaaaazing! We bought a hatch sound machine with the ok to wake when she was around 2 and waking up at 3 and 4 am ready for the day LOL now she sleeps until 6am when it's "ok to tell mama you're awake" lol!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh following her now!! I am all for stretching the days between washes!
DeleteI have heard multiple people recommend that dry shampoo. Visiting from the hello Monday link up.
ReplyDeleteIt really is the best-- and I've tried a lot of them!!
DeleteWe easily eat a dozen hard boiled eggs a week and I am totally checking out that peeler and the video! I wish I had had a light like that when my kids were smaller; what a genius idea. They always asked every few minutes if it was time to get up yet...
ReplyDeleteHaha that's exactly what we were dealing with-- coming out every few minutes to ask if it was time to get up!
DeleteI need to invest in a food saver. We buy a lot of meat in bulk and this would help so much. I need to try that dry shampoo.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah that would definitely help with keeping your meat fresh!
DeleteThat egg peeler has my attention! Living Proof makes great hair products.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it so satisfying when that egg slides right out of the shell? haha...the instant pot changed boiled eggs for me.
ReplyDeleteI really need to get some dry shampoo! That okay to wake clock is fantastic.
