Amazon Finds-- December 2020

Hi there! I hope you all had a good break. I initially had not intended to take last week off but then it ended up being a crazy whirlwind of traveling to see my parents and then my in-laws. It ended up being nice to just spend that extra time with them, not focusing on anything other than good quality family time. Now I am back and ready for the new year! You all know how much I love goal setting and the opportunity to start fresh. A new year is a whole new world of possibilities. I love it. But before we move on, let's have a look back at December and my Amazon purchases.

Scale-- We have never had a scale in our house, and honestly I have never really had a desire to have one. I used to just weigh myself whenever I went to the gym and then never thought about it until the next time I made it to the gym. Then the pandemic occurred and with it came the shutdown of our gym. We were without a scale for months and were also spending that time doing a lot of cooking and baking. Our gym partially opened back up but the locker room where the scales are kept is still closed. Devin and I decided it might be a good idea to finally buckle down and get one. We don't want to finally get back on the scale one day and be surprised by the number. I went looking on Amazon and this one had a bunch of high reviews. So far we really like it! It comes with an app that helps you track your progress over time, your body fat percentage and a whole bunch of other gadgets. If you're looking for a scale to start the new year, I'd recommend this one!

For Christmas I got Devin this projector and screen to watch movies and football games in the backyard. He has been talking about this off and on for years, but then our next door neighbors got one over the summer and he got even more stoked about it. We have yet to open them and use them, but the reviews were high so I feel pretty confident about them.

Gorilla Glue-- With young kids running around there is always a need for more superglue 😊

Santa Suit-- Remember our Santa pics from a few weeks ago? Guess where I found the suit 😉 I mean seriously, what did people do before Amazon Prime when they needed obscure items? I wouldn't even know where to look for a Santa suit in person. Thank God for Amazon!

Planner-- This is the planner I was telling you guys about a few weeks ago. I still don't love it compared to the Happy Planner, but honestly at that price I can't complain. If you are less particular about which brand of planner to use, this one might be worth a shot. I am just too much of a creature of habit apparently and miss the format/layout I've been used to for the past several years.

Posture Corrector-- Since Devin has been working from home and sitting a lot more than usual, he had noticed his back started bothering him. One day I noticed how he was sitting while at his desk and saw that he was slouching, which I thought might be leading to his back aches. I had seen ads online for posture correctors (how do they always know what I'm thinking before I even type it?? It's so creepy) and grabbed this one to try. So far so good! You are supposed to wear it only about 20 minutes at first, then gradually add time up to 2 hours for 2 weeks. Eventually it is supposed to help correct your posture and he won't need it anymore because he will be sitting properly again on his own. We aren't at the two week mark yet, but Devin said he already feels a slight improvement in his back, so that's a win!

Construction Set-- My nephew's birthday is in January and he loves to build. He plays for hours with Legos, MagnaTiles, and other toys that are similar. I saw these and thought they'd be right up his alley.

Mascara-- Last but not least, I ran out of my favorite mascara and grabbed a new tube!

That was quite the roundup! What about you? What was the last thing you purchased on Amazon?

  1. We have a normal scale, but I really want one with that has all the other metrics like body fat percentage, etc. Maybe we'll get one this year. Happy New Year!

    1. It's interesting to see! I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it's nice to see a change in those numbers too and not just in the weight. Happy New Year!

  5. My sister is like that with scales and yet I have pretty much always weighed myself every single day! SO odd that we can be so different at times. I like the accountability of seeing the numbers because I can ignore tight and uncomfortable clothes in favor of more good food! I ordered super glue from Amazon last month too; a few ornaments and one or two of my village pieces needed fixing.

  6. My family always had a scale when I was a kid and I've had one for myself most of my adult life. One with the body fat calculations would be nice. I need to look into that posture corrector too.

  7. I've never been without a scale but have to be careful not to obsess over it! Projectors seem to be all the rage lately and that is what my teen asked for this last birthday. It's been fun for slumber parties.

    1. That's why we never had one before-- I know it can be a slippery slope from just casually checking it to obsessing over it!

  9. Santa brought us one of those smart scales. I had never used one but they seem very cool, I wonder how accurate they are though. I still find it very motivational to achieve goals
