Books I Read in April

Good morning! Is everybody else out there trying to fill up some of your time by reading as many books as possible right now? Despite feeling like I have less time on my hands, I still somehow managed to squeeze 4 books in (well, almost 4... I'm like 20 pages away from finishing the last one so I'm counting it 😀). It's a big variety this month: a novel, a thriller, a book about health and fitness, and a Christian based book about stopping negative thinking patterns. I really liked all 4! Let's have a look:

The Other Woman--  I had such a love/hate relationship with this book! It was definitely gripping and I couldn't put it down, but I often felt frustrated with the main character for putting up with WAY more negativity than she should have. I complained to Devin about it at one point and he said "Well, if she left her boyfriend after the first few red flags, that wouldn't make for a very interesting book would it?" Which is a totally fair point, the book would've been over right then and there. So I tried to look past that. That being said, I also really did not love the ending. Yet, somehow, I still liked this book and would recommend it. I frustrated me, but I also couldn't stop thinking about it when I had finished it! How's that for a confusing review? Hah! Anyone else read this? I'm dying to know your thoughts!
What Alice Forgot- One of my closest girlfriends is not a reader, but she has recently gotten into it since we have more time on our hands lately. She started with a Liane Moriarty book, The Husband's Secret, and loved it. She was asking me which other Liane Moriarty books I recommended and I told her What Alice Forgot was my absolute favorite. I told her I would read it with her so we could have "book club" chats and I could help keep her motivated to keep reading. It worked and she also loved What Alice Forgot. If you haven't read this one, do it!! It's such a unique storyline and I love seeing how it all unfolds.

Find Your Path- I was at Target recently stocking up on essentials and walked past this book on display at the end of the book aisle. The pretty front cover caught my attention and I stopped over to look at it. I think Carrie Underwood is so sweet and loved following along with her when she was on American Idol. This book is all about Carrie's approach to health and fitness, which you all know I am super passionate about. I loved reading her take on everything and loved how she swaps out some ingredients in recipes to make them more healthy. I haven't tried the workouts she has listed yet but they look HARD!! Our plan is to try some this week if we are able to!

I'm reeeeally close to finishing another book, Get Out of Your Head, which so far I love!! Did you know the average person has over 30,000 thoughts every day? And that, for the average person, 70% of them are negative? At first I was surprised by that but then was comforted to know that we ALL do that negative. spiral. This was a Christian based book about how to stop negative thinking in it's tracks and shift it.
